Spotlight on Eusebi Deli

Eusebi Deli is an authentic Italian café, restaurant and deli located on Gibson Street in the west end of Glasgow. With over 40 years in the business, Eusebi prides itself on importing only the finest Italian produce to present the iconic Eusebi Deli experience that Glaswegians have come to love. The team here describe their dining experience as ‘bringing people together with a food hug’ and we absolutely adore that.

Southern Italian heritage

Eusebi Deli draws experience from its Italian heritage with owner Giovanna’s grandparents’ table in Southern Italy a focal point for inspiring seasonal, homegrown dishes made with love. Giovanna recalls early memories in her childhood of helping her grandparents to harvest grapes and preserve tomatoes for the winter. This passion for high quality produce can be seen in the delicious, authentic Italian food served within the deli. The family’s slogan ‘Food, Family, Life and Passion’ are the principles that Eusebi Deli have modelled themselves on.

The original Eusebi Deli premise in the East End of Glasgow now houses the off-site bakery, which supplies the range of sweet treats that are served every day in the deli. From strawberry tarts and lemon meringue pie to traditional Sicilian Cannoli, each of the desserts are baked with love.

Authentic Italian deli

Eusebi Deli is situated on the corner of Gibson Street and is instantly recognisable thanks to its classy maroon canopy. As soon as you enter, be prepared to be transported to Italy from the sweet smell of coffee, Italian music and extravagant deli, filled with only the finest Italian meats, cheeses, pastas, grocery provisions and fine wines. In typical Italian style you can also expect to see regulars enjoying a cappuccino around the deli counter in the mornings paired with a crema cornetti, which is a croissant pastry filled with indulgent Italian cream.

It is the perfect place if you want to shop for delicious meats and focaccias to create an impressive charcuterie board to serve to friends or treat yourself to a slice of homemade pizza for a tasty on the go lunch.

Eusebi at home dining experience

Eusebi Deli launched a sustainable at home dining experience at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 to provide its diners with the same enjoyable taste of Eusebi Deli in the comfort of their own home. Since its launch it has been overwhelmingly popular and continues to operate running from Thursdays to Sundays for both collection and delivery.

The Italian deli also specialises in catering for large family gatherings and parties. Family size caprese salad platters, focaccia and the famous ‘yesterday’s lasagne’ are some of the delicious offerings provided.

In-house dining experience

Alongside the mouthwatering deli of delicious breads, meats, and pastas, Eusebi Deli also offers a breakfast, brunch, evening and dessert menu, as well as a vegan menu.

The breakfast menu provides an extensive range of offerings from delicious, freshly baked pastries to healthy acai bowls as well as a full section of the menu dedicated exclusively to eggs. Cacio Pepe consists of soft scrambled eggs, Roman style with pecorino and black pepper served with toasted sourdough. If you fancy something more adventurous then try the Energia, which is two eggs poached, served on a bed of sourdough toast with sundried tomatoes, avocado, and chilli. Traditional breakfast rolls are also available.

Eusebi Deli’s brunch menu, meanwhile, is perfect for enjoying with friends at the weekend as it has a wide range of dishes including Neapolitan pizzas, tortellini filled with potato and crispy leak and creamy burrata served with crispy artichokes. When it comes to brunch specials you can enjoy either roast fillet of organic salmon or chicken supreme on a bed of orzo and lemon salad.

The evening menu offers exclusive kitchen specials such as beef tagliata, whole sea bass, and pork chop. A few stand out dishes also include the devilled eggs, citrus salad, ‘yesterday’s lasagne’ and Octopus prosciutto.

Pioneering sustainable restaurants

In the lead up to the COP26 conference in November 2021, Eusebi Deli took part in the ‘Plate up for Glasgow’ initiative, which saw a range of Glasgow restaurants pledge to reduce food and drink waste in support of combatting climate change. During the period of 12th October and 12th November, visitors to Eusebi Deli were encouraged to sample a wide range of sustainable food dishes that evoked the real taste of Italy.
