Sydney Chef Dan Hong is a walking talking institution. A self described father of three who “cooks for a living” (as humble as Russel Crow’s “get the odd job” Instagram bio), he famously heads up all things edible as Merivale’s Executive Chef at Establishment, Ms. G’s Lotus, Queen Chow – and Mr. Wong, where we highly recommend this Dad friendly feast of a dish.
If you can’t go to the Middle East, Chef Liron Mayer and the legends at Fuel have moved mountains to bring it to you. Nestled in the heart of creative hotspot Brookvale they’re whipping up truly authentic Israeli street food right here in Sydney. Serving up Sydney’s BEST bagels, curating cool complementary cocktails, and slow cooking the tomato and capsicum sauce for this signature baked eggs dish that’s served with a side of labneh cheese and perfect pita – perfect for Father’s Day breakfast or lunch.
As owner Jessie would say, Yalla Balagan !! (good chaos)
As if the food on the menu isn’t enough, the team at Lovat pull out all the stops for Father’s Day, with the added bonus of gifts and freebies from food, wine and produce Gods in the local community. Give the gift of outdoor PT sessions at the local gym, and ice cold pale ale from their buddies at Maestre Brewing Co.
Pair them with this mega dinner and you have the perfect Father’s Day combo.
If go big or go home was a dish, this would be it. Not the biggest steak on this meaty menu but it is the best, with a top tier marble score of 6+ and expertly dry aged in house. A process of preparing and drying out their meticulously handpicked paddock to plate meats, and amplifying the textures and flavours in every mouthful.
For the ultimate Father’s Day feast just add starters, dessert and of course, the wine.
