Fanny Trollopes named 'top 10 per cent' in the world
Glasgow is home to many award-winning eateries and now Tripadvsior has handed out even more awards to some local businesses who can boast a green stamp on their profiles having been told they’re in the top 10 per cent in the world. Among those awarded is Dish Cult’s very own Fanny Trollopes!

Fanny Trollopes specialises in fish, seafood, Scottish beef and lamb, fowl and game. With constantly updating menus reflecting what’s currently in season and available from suppliers, this much loved local venue offers some of Scotland’s finest seasonal produce in a friendly, atmospheric and busy neighbourhood bistro.
The restaurant was among a handful of Glasgow favourites to be bestowed with the title of “Travellers’ Choice 2022” by Tripadvisor, with them being named as the top 10 per cent in their category in the world.
According to the travel review website: “Travellers’ Choice recognises businesses that earn consistently great reviews. Travellers’ Choice award-winners are among the top 10 per cent of listings on Tripadvisor.”
Taking a look at some of the top Glasgow cafes and restaurants, the review website has handed some much-loved faces the award naming the likes of Amalfi Glasgow and Number 16 alongside Fanny Trollopes as some of the favourites for this year, thanks to the public’s reviews and ratings.
In addition, cafes such as Cafe Strange Brew, Soup’s On and the Cake Lady, and Scran – who are currently listed number one in the Glasgow café category – have also been awarded the title.
Top spots for sweet treats in and around the city centre were also selected for being part of the top 10 per cent with Tantrum Doughnuts, Rawnchy and The Hidden Lane Tearoom – another Dish Cult favourite – coming out on top.
This year’s awards also saw The Gannet awarded ‘Best of the Best’. According to Tripadvisor, the fine dining establishment is listed in seventh place out of 10 with them releasing the list in a bid to “help provide inspiration on the top spots to dine out whatever the occasion, whether at home or while travelling.”
