Situated in the gorgeous little village of Gorey, Sumas restaurant offers unrivalled views of the shore. Despite these views, it’s mainly the food that everyone remembers this Jersey restaurant for. They are famous for providing delicious, Jersey-based dishes, in a classy setting, at reasonable prices. Happily, it’s also one of the best family restaurants in Jersey. In the morning they provide an amazing kids’ breakfast where they can pick from eggs and soldiers, pancakes and more; the perfect way to set them up for the day. And their evening menu for the little ones is pretty great too. What are you waiting for? Get booking.
If there’s one great way to get your children ready for dinner, it’s telling them that they’re going to “The Treehouse.” Although it’s not an actual tree-house, there are some great climbing frames and indoor playing areas that are sure to keep the sprogs entertained so you can enjoy a great dinner. Serving up delicious, fresh Italian food, there are dishes for everyone on this menu. Kids will love their homemade pizzas, and there are lots of nibbles and breads on the menu to suit even the fussiest tummies. It’s also a really pretty spot with a lovely outdoor area which will keep the adults in the party too.
An absolute classic if you’re looking for family restaurants in Jersey, TGI Fridays has been feeding groups of all ages for many years. With it’s buzzy atmosphere, great playlists, and varied menus, it’s the kind of place that everyone in your party will be happy to visit. Unlike many menus where children are given a choice of nuggets or a burger, TGIs offer pastas, burgers, wraps, fish fingers, and pizzas, all served with apple, cucumber and carrot. For the adults there’s even more with burgers, ribs, chicken, nachos, and options for vegan and gluten free diets. Obviously the best bit of the menu for adults is their cocktail list, featuring daiquiris, their famous Purple Rain, martinis, and boozy shakes, all great for relaxing after a long day.
One of Jersey’s most popular restaurants, The Boat House sits right on the Saint Aubin sealine, providing diners with beautiful views as they eat dinner. Sister venue to the Treehouse Restaurant, it’s another great family restaurant in Jersey. We’d recommend sitting outside and eating al fresco on their terrace if the weather is good as the kids will love the opportunity to eat outside and watch the boats in the harbour. The kids menu features dishes the little ones will love like spaghetti bolognaise, sausage and mash, and Boathouse fish and chips. There’s also tapas and sharing plates if the family wants to mix and match dishes, and an extensive dessert list that’s great for bribing children to eat their mains with.
Doran’s is one of our favourite spots in Jersey. This St Helier favourite has a fantastic a la carte menu, with tasty dishes like Irish fillet steak, rack of lamb, baked chicken supreme, and much more, all guaranteed to ensure the adults of the group leave with a big smile. Even better, the kids menu is extensive and varied, meaning there will be no cries of “dad I don’t like anything.” There’s butterfly chicken, penne pasta, and even a steak for those who always want what their parents are having. It’s situated in the Revere Hotel which features a private pool that you can use if you happen to be staying overnight.
