A spotlight on Liverpool's Love Lane Brewery

Tucked into the vibrant and happening Baltic Triangle, Liverpool’s creative district, you’ll find Love Lane Brewery; a buzzing hub for socialising, dining, and brewing beer of course! Born with a vision to create a place to come and dine and chat over a few drinks and plates, Love Lane Brewery is synonymous with a good time in Liverpool.

Founded in 1780, Love Lane knows a thing or two when it comes to brewing beers. Originally found in the archways of Liverpool’s Love Lane, the brewery has developed over the years, now with several spots brewing in the city, as well as the flagship brewery and kitchen on Bridgewater Street. After 6 years, Love Lane Brewery reopened their doors on April 4th under new ownership, and with an entirely fresh look and feel to the beloved brewery – and we must say, we’re loving the newness…

The space is huge – renovated from an old rubber factory into a 3-bar, kitchen, tasting room, and event space all under the one roof and while managing to brew millions of pints onsite every year. Feel welcomed as you walk in, taking in the industrial gastropub vibes and the intoxicating atmosphere of memories being made and jokes being cracked. Take your pick from their communal banquet tables to get amongst the banter or slink off somewhere a bit quieter like their armchairs lining the perimeter of the main hall. Either way, you’ll be surrounded by a friendly and relaxed ambience. The staff are attentive and friendly, making sure to look after their regulars, as well as welcome and impress newcomers to Love Lane.

Naturally, the beers on tap at Love Lane are the star of the show. The onsite brewery is pouring fresh pints with Love Lane’s very own brews, as well as some rotating guest star favourites. Whether you’re a fan of f crisp lagers, hop-forward IPAs, or rich stouts, there’s a brew for you.

You’ll also find plenty of G&Ts on the menu from Love Lane’s onsite distillery – who says you can’t have it all? If gin and beer aren’t quite your tipple, the cocktails certainly will be. Espresso martinis, pornstars, and negronis are just a few of the classics you’ll find on the drinks menu.

As for food, Love Lane’s menu changes almost daily, making each visit a surprise! Though you can expect contemporary pub food to the highest quality. Picture 3-cheese croquettes and Cobble Lane charcuterie to nibble on, and twice-cooked lamb belly, gin-cured sea trout, and salmon fishcakes with lemon aioli to start.

Mains usually go along the lines of their famed beer-battered fish with chips & mushy peas, their classic smashed cheeseburger, potato gnocchi with blue cheese, or pan-fried sea bass with celeriac. Love Lane also offers vegetarian options such as their sweet potato and tomato soup, burrata with tomato and basil, and their vegan mince and vegetable pie. Love Lane also has an array of weekday specials including Sunday roasts, Wednesday wings, and Friday fish & chips (which comes with a free pint!).

While the menu is ever-changing, there is one particular dish that keeps diners coming back for more, and that’s their homemade pork pies! Crispy and crumbly pastry, perfectly seasoned pork filling, served hot, and for just £3.50 – you truly can’t beat it.

Whether you’re a seasoned local at Love Lane or your next time is also your first time, the newly renovated space and carefully curated new menus are a true asset to Liverpool’s dining scene and especially to the Baltic Triangle. Between a great spot to grab a quick pint before your next spot or you’re looking to lounge a day away catching up with old friends, there’s plenty to eat, see, do and enjoy at Love Lane Brewery.
