With two locations in south Dublin, Casanova’s is one of the city’s most authentic European restaurants. Casanova’s intimate setting is ideal for candlelit date nights, and the food will surely leave a lasting impression on both you and your date. The signature pizzas are baked in woodfire ovens at 700 degrees, creating a “a light and crispy, but above all, an easily digestible pizza, meaning that even the crust is delish!” The starter dish of meatballs are dream material, and with a two-course meal and a glass of wine for €25, it would be madness to miss this cosy intimate Italian diner. What’s more, Casanova’s has an extensive selection of wine to accompany all of its freshly made dishes.

Sprezzatura is totally unique in its approach to creating simple, delicious, and cost effective food. With locations in vibrant areas like Camden Market and Rathmines, Sprezzatura is an ideal setting for a student night out! All of its food is sourced from suppliers across Dublin and Wicklow, creating a menu that is both sustainable and brilliantly priced, with dishes costing no more than €10. Some of the highlights include the carbonara pasta and ragu, as well as the meatball starter dish. The wine available is supplied by WineLab, who “introduced and established wine on tap in Ireland.” Sprezzatura aims to create “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”.

One Pico holds a high level of prestige and is one of the top French restaurants in Dublin, with the restaurant providing French cooking techniques with Irish produce. One Pico is set in an 18th century coach house, where you’ll find yourself on comfy banquettes and velour chairs. You’ll find head chef Ciaran McGill serving up seasonal dishes along with an extensive wine list. While the dinner menu does start at €85, the food served is of the highest quality in Dublin. An exceptional meal in One Pico would be the Aged Parmesan and Truffle Ravioli, Cep Mushroom Consommé and the Fillet of Beef, Maitake Mushrooms, Cep Purée, Potato and Shaved Autumn Truffle. Head sommelier Arnold Legat has curated a wine list to compliment every meal. Bon Appetit!

DeVille's
cuisinesSteak, French, Bistro

Located in the beautiful seaside village of Dalkey, DeVille’s is renowned for its French bistro cooking and gorgeous cocktails. With a warm interior, DeVille’s is a restaurant that can cater for couples, families, and dinner parties alike. Serving up brunch on the weekends too, with an early bird menu from 5-7pm allows diners to get any bistro main plus an appetiser for €28 per person. The wide ranging lunch and dinner menu provides a little something for everyone, be it the surf and turf with lobsters caught at the local harbour, or a melt in your mouth steak frites. We’d recommend the brunch menu, not only because of the signature DeVille’s Eggs, but selected cocktails are only €7.50! With an unbeatable brunch and an affluent setting to match, there’s no doubt that DeVille’s is one of the most underrated European restaurants in Dublin.
