Let’s face it: Dubliners love espresso martinis. First it was burritos, then came the dawn of the doughnut, but the drink to win them all is the humble espresso martini. It even kind of looks like Guinness… Read on to discover where the best ones are in Dublin.

The Cellar Bar hands down has the best espresso martinis on the Baggot Street / Merrion Square side of the city. They are a pretty penny (ahem: €17) but trust us, they are worth it. They are perfectly balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. The perfect post-work drink after a long day in the Dáil.
This hopping pizza joint in Rathmines does everything well. The pizza? To die for. Craft beer nut? They got you. Shuffleboard enthusiast? Look no further. But the espresso martinis are solid. If you look closely, you’ll see the bar staff spritz the tops with a mist of vodka, to finish off the bubbles and smooth it all out. And trust us, they are smooth as a whistle. Swit Swoo.
Tapped is a relatively new boozer in the centre of town that has everything, you guessed it, on tap. There are lots of fun nights like Pop Up Gaeltachts and DJs until 3am on the weekends, as well as guest food from Dublin staples like All Bar Chicken and the Dublin Pizza Company. The espresso martinis are surprisingly great coming from a tap, making it a little too easy to drink them all night long. You’ll need them for those 3am nights.
Hang Dai is the go-to spot for fusion Chinese food. Everyone knows this. But trust, do not attempt to sleep on the drinks. Hang Dai has a banging cocktail list and the espresso martini is so good. And seeing as the desserts are limited (there’s only one), this is the ONLY way to end a cracking meal at Hang Dai.

We can’t think of a better spot in the city to enjoy Dublin’s Premier Drink™. The views are gorgeous at The Rooftop Bar and Terrace at The Marker Hotel, and its take on the espresso martini is luxurious. The team substitutes regular vodka with vanilla vodka, making this drink of kings smoother and a little sweeter. The best time to go is right at sunset, where there’s 360˚ views with the mountains on one side and the Irish Sea on the other.
