Dish Cult venue named number one in Estrella Damm’s Top 50 Gastropubs

As well as there being a new number one and Parkers Arms coming seventh, there were a couple more additions to the Top 10 that you can book with Dish Cult.

The Red Lion and Sun in Highgate has been crowned the king of London’s gastropubs, coming sixth in the UK’s Top 50. You can find this great gastropub in the leafy rural haven of Highgate Village.

And in at number 10 was The Hand & Flowers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This Michelin star pub from celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge is loved by locals and foodies alike, with people flocking from all over the country to visit.

Taking the 11th spot was Heft. Kevin and Nicola Tickle are ‘hefted’ to Cumbria and both come from foodie families, which led them to launch Heft in High Newton, Cumbria. You can read the exclusive Dish Cult interview with Kevin Tickle here.

Another Cumbria favourite, The Dog and Gun Inn was listed 33. Named the Best Dining Pub in the Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards in 2019 and 2020, you can read the Dish Cult interview with chef Ben Queen-Fryer here.

Other honorary shout outs must go to The Double Red Duke (47) in Bampton, Oxfordshire, The Edinburgh Castle in Ancoats, Manchester (24) and The Scran & Scallie in Edinburgh (49).

But, of course, we all want to know who came out on top, so – drum roll please… we’re pleased to announce that The Unruly Pig in Suffolk has officially been crowned number one in the list of Estrella Damm’s Top 50 Gastropubs.

Winsome and warm, Suffolk’s Unruly Pig serves filling and well-crafted pub food in an environment that reflects the personalities of the people behind the stunning venue.

The stunning Unruly Pig was the first pub in Suffolk to take the top spot on the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list, which it rightfully did in 2022 and has once again claimed the top spot.
