LA LISTE, the global ranking of restaurants, pastry shops and hotels, has revealed its Top 1,000 World’s Best Restaurants. The list illustrates the Top 1,000 of the industry’s finest, introducing the G7 of gastronomy as seven restaurants across four continents take out the top spot. This year saw winners in the US, UK, France, Germany, China and Japan, with seven receiving the top score of 99.5. And taking the number one spot this year just so happened to be a Dish Cult venue…
Of the seven that received the top score of 99.5, two sustaining winners from last year were Le Bernardin in New York and Guy Savoy in Paris.
Sushi Saito in Tokyo and La Vague d’Or in Saint-Tropez, France, inched up from No. 2 to join the top group.
La Liste’s Top 1,000 World’s Best Restaurants uses a unique algorithm to evaluate over 1,000 global sources, including fine dining guides, critics, bloggers and customer review sites.
The algorithm weighs almost 1,100 international sources, incorporating ratings from restaurant guides, opinions from global, national and regional press, and customer ratings – the inclusion of each adding significant value to La Liste’s results and ensuring a vast range of subjective sources are covered.
Approximately 32,500 restaurants in 200 countries are evaluated. Equally as important as the ranking, LA LISTE honours global gastronomy through crowning a diverse range of special awards across 11 categories: Award of Honour, Pastry Chef of the Year, New Destination Champion, Innovation, Game Changer, Community Spirit, Ethical and Sustainability, New Arrival of the Year, Hidden Gem, Artisan and Authenticity, and New Talent of the Year.
The list also sees multiple trends emerge, including Asia’s post-covid comeback and the rising inclination towards shorter, more casual dining experiences.
It was an exciting revelation for the UK in this year’s list, as 78 UK restaurants featured in the Top 1,000 – 28 of which are London-based. And most excitingly, for the first time ever a UK restaurant tops the list!
Multi-talented Simon Rogan’s L’Enclume has been crowned number one, which is a huge honour for us here at Dish Cult because the restaurant also happens to be one of our very own.
Next week, onMonday 20th November, LA LISTE will welcome all the winners to an awards ceremony to celebrate their dedication and commitment to excellence.
Following the ceremony, the Top 1,000 World’s Best Restaurants that have been revealed will feature on the LA LISTE mobile app, available in nine languages on iOS and Android.
In the meantime, it’s an enormous congratulations to Simon and L’Enclume from the very proud team here at Dish Cult.
