The Olive Shed is a highly popular place with locals and with good reason. Serving up a Mediterranean/Lebanese inspired menu, their style is rustic and their flavour is big. The food is locally sourced, yet the seasoning and cooking methods are straight from the Med. Plus while dining here you get to look out over the beautiful Bristol Harbourside for an added bonus. The platters in particular are well worth a go.

Bambalan is totally fresh, healthy and exciting. They’re open for all day dining and not only offer heavenly dishes, but expertly crafted drinks and unrivalled views over the city centre from their rooftop terrace as well. It’s no wonder they’re one of Bristol’s best loved eating, drinking and music destinations! Their menu’s full of vibrant Mediterranean inspired small plates, sourdough pizzas and charcoal grilled options. We recommend the Jamon Croquetas and the Crisp Salt n Pepper Squid.

Bright, colourful, al fresco, what’s not to love about Soukitchen? This location, in Clifton is just off the popular Whiteladies Road; they have another location in Southville. The flavour-packed menu is served Mezze style, which is basically Middle Eastern tapas if you’re unfamiliar with it. There’s a very tantalising variety on offer, ranging from braised lamb hearts and Greek roast chicken thighs, to the chargrilled Abbots Leigh Halloumi with black seed honey and watermelon, which is not one to be missed!

Under the Stars
cuisinesMediterranean, Tapas, Vegetarian

What could possibly feel more Mediterranean than dining out on a boat? The aptly named Under the Stars is one of Bristol’s most unique restaurants and has been serving diners floating Mediterranean tapas since they opened in 2010. Moored securely in the historic harbour, the inside is light and cosy with rich wood, hague blue decor and accents of mustard yellow, while the spacious top deck offers year round alfresco dining. When it comes to the food, don’t shy away from the Harissa chicken or the spider crab and saffron croquettes. If you’re vegetarian then you certainly won’t be disappointed because there are way more options on this side of the menu. From the Turkish tabbouleh salad to the Moroccan tagine, there are little tastes from all parts of the Mediterranean.
