Located in the intimate surroundings of an underground hideaway on South William Street, Platform 61 is one of Dublin’s best kept secrets, and we’re itching to tell you about it.
A hidden gem
platform 61 dublin

This Dublin destination takes inspiration from a secret subway platform in New York, once used by famous pop artist Andy Warhol for his ‘underground parties’. Track 61, as it was called, was exclusively reserved for Presidents and the New York elite, and Platform 61 is bringing that elusive VIP appeal to Dublin diners. Nestled down a flight of stairs on South William Street, a stone’s throw away from St Stephen’s Green, diners from all over are seeking out Platform 61 to try one of the finest culinary experiences in Dublin.

The bottomless mimosa brunch/lunch
platform 61 dublin

After our visit, we can confidently say Platform 61 serves some of the tastiest food south of the city. Head down and order the bottomless mimosa brunch (€16), trust us you won’t be disappointed. We recommend (alongside the mimosas) the huevos rancheros, with a delightful homemade spicy tomato relish and crushed potatoes. Other notable dishes include the ‘Stun Bun’, a tasty grilled chicken fillet in a brioche bun served with oven roasted potato – brunchin’ has never tasted so good!

For the early birds
platform 61 dublin

Although we loved brunch, we can’t forget the Early Bird menu, which also packs a punch. The tequila and lime chicken, served with summer cannelloni beans and mango salsa is a hot favourite, as is the perfectly cooked pan fried hake served with a lip-smacking vermouth sauce – can we go back now!

For the vegans amongst you, Platform 61 serves a secret vegan menu that features dishes such as Konnayaku noodles with wild mushrooms, roast red pepper sauce and hazelnuts, or you can chow down on a vegan gluten free pie which can be made with leek & onions or mushroom. To cater to your sweet tooth, there’s also a delightful vanilla ice cream with pumpkin seed oil, or go the whole hog and order the delectable vegan brownie.

Early Bird menu available: Sunday to Friday 5-7pm where you can enjoy 2 courses (€20) and 3 courses (€25)

The tipples
platform 61 dublin

To top off the culinary experience, we recommend staying for some well deserved tipples. The Hugo cocktail (€11), made with Prosecco, elderflower cordial and mint leaves, is a particular favourite as is the P61 Peach (€12), a signature cocktail with champagne foam. The drinks are so good that we’re almost certain you’ll be a bit bleary eyed, just make sure you “mind the gap” and exit with your belongings when leaving Platform 61.
