Thailand’s capital city is one of the most buzzy spots in the world and welcomes more travellers than any other place. It’s often said you could spend your whole life in Bangkok and not see half the city. But if you’re just here for a week or two, you want to see as much of the trendy spots as you can. Which is why we’ve put together a list of the coolest restaurants and bars in Bangkok that will look super pretty on your Instagram.

Part of the beautiful So Sofitel hotel, Park Society Restaurant is an impressive spot where you can look out with uninterrupted views of Bangkok. Situated on the 29th floor, chef Joost Bijister has created a menu that will provide “great food, gorgeous views, and a fun vibe”, in short, the perfect ingredients for a night out. Try out their Park Society starter specials of golden pastry with foi gras, truffle, or brioche, before moving on to their stunning mains of lobster, mallard duck, wagyu strip-loin and much more.

If trendy, casual, fine dining is what you’re looking for, we recommend that you check out Bunker. American-themed, this spot is inspired by cities like San Francisco and New York. Dishes include everything from wagyu beef tartare, to organic fried chicken to share. There’s also an impressive cheeseboard that you can nibble on while sipping some tasty drinks. Bunker has a focus on sustainability and sourcing the best ingredients, while chef Arnold Marcella’s Michelin-star credentials make this place one of our favourite cool restaurants in Bangkok.

More of a bar than a restaurant, Sky on 20 really is one of the most chilled out places in bustling Bangkok. They have a huge drinks menu ranging from classic cocktails like the bramble or pornstar martini, to their own takes like a spiced banana swizzle or a Captain Jack Collins. There’s even a non-alcoholic cocktail menu with tasty treats like apple pie and a passion colada. If you’re feeling hungry they do great nibbles, including sharing platters and pizzas that you can enjoy as you look out at the view from the 26th floor.

Located in the impressive VIE hotel, La Vie is a contemporary French restaurant, that oozes cool. Hang out in their romantic piano bar while sipping on a glass of wine, before heading through to the intimate restaurant for a feast of French cuisine. With lots of booths and spacious tables, it’s a private space that looks out over the city from a great height. Famous for their seafood, try out their Japanese snow crab starter, or Nagano rainbow trout confit with fondant potato. Afterwards, head back to the piano bar and finish your night in style.
