How many of you managed to last all 31 days of sobriety? Congratulations if you succeeded and to those of you who didn’t… life is too short not to enjoy the finer beverages in life anyway! We wanted to give you a round-up of the best places in Liverpool to take your next sip of alcohol – whether your favourite bev is a crisp, cold pint or a large glass of red wine, we’ve got you covered! Cheers to that.

Love Lane Brewery is based in the heart of Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle, voted the “coolest” district in the UK. These guys are keeping the city’s proud brewing heritage alive, so if craft beer is your bag, look no further! In 2016, the renovation of the old rubber factory into an 18,000 Hectolitre Brewery, capable of brewing 3.2 million pints, began! You can now book a beer tour, which is an hour long and includes a guided tour of the brewery, a tasting of three beers and a pint of lager, pale or session to finish. Why not follow the beer tour with a hearty Sunday lunch? What better way to celebrate the end of Dry January?

Lunyalita has a brilliant location, next to the Beatles Story, overlooking the world-famous Albert Dock. The food menu offers a wide range of classic and modern tapas at lunch, and Spanish-influenced British classics and tapas, deli platters and paella throughout the rest of the day with changing specials.
But now time for the really good news… This place has an unparalleled list of exclusively Spanish wines, with many of the best wines that Spain produces, some of which may be unfamiliar and are rarely seen outside of the country. Lunyalita encourages you to be adventurous in your choice of wine. It has over 100 fabulous Spanish wines to choose from and many of the vintages are rare and in short supply so, if you’re looking for a really special European wine experience from the heart of Liverpool, head to Lunyalita!
Are you ready to add some whisky to that water? Well, Castle St Townhouse offers a wide selection of spirits, wines and draft lagers, so there’s something for everyone here. And, if you love live music, on Friday and Saturday nights the DJs come in so you can fill the floor and dance until late with your drinks in hand. If you’re looking for some food to soak up that alcohol, Castle St Townhouse also specialises in delicious meals featuring fresh ingredients. Whether you’re ordering a multi-course meal or grabbing a drink, the lively, yet upscale atmosphere makes it a perfect location for sipping on a whisky with friends, family or clients.
Why not do something a little bit different this February? The Liverpool Gin Distillery offers gin tasting and gin making! It produces its very own Liverpool Organic Gin range on-site in a custom-built 60-litre copper still, which you can get to sample, or you can sit at the bar and sip on one of the award-winning gin and tonics instead.
Petit Café is a French café bar on Berry Street. As the name suggests, this little gem of a bar transports you to the sophisticated city of Paris. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about all things wine and cocktails, so don’t be afraid to ask the team for their recommendations! There’s a mixture of classic cocktails we all know and love, plus some new in-house creations such as the White Chocolate Espresso Martini and a Parisian Sour… You’ll be spoilt for choice!
