Situated on Princes Parade with glorious views and sunsets, Cargo is nothing but fish, seafood, wine, cocktails, friends, and good times. Cargo Seafood Restaurant prides itself on serving the best fish and seafood you’ll find in Liverpool – all fresh, every morning, from the Liverpool shores and beyond. And where better to enjoy the catch of the day than this waterfront location with breathtaking views across the River Mersey and beautiful sunsets that change with the seasons. This is a truly special restaurant in a very special location.
The best fish and chips in Liverpool
The Liverpool Echo and TripAdvisor crowned Cargo the best place in Liverpool to get fish and chips earlier in 2022. According to the review site, when it searched restaurants and filtered ‘fish and chips’, the restaurant that offers the best fish and chips is Cargo Seafood Restaurant on Princes Parade in Liverpool city centre.
The restaurant relaunched under new ownership back in May 2017, serving up classic seafood dishes including scallops, calamari and seabass. Executive Chef, Skevos Paraskeva has worked in many restaurants across Europe and has brought his exceptional skills to Liverpool where each day he delivers quality and presentation second to none.
A happy customer has written, “The quality and flavour was very good throughout – summarising the order as the grill platter, shrimp salad, cod fingers and chips, range of dips to accompany breads.”
Another customer who also visited wrote, “My partner had traditional fish and chips which, whilst the fish was as good as expected, the chips were simply superb (really didn’t expect to be writing about chips but, if you have them, you’ll understand).”
Cargo’s menu is delectable in every way. It is created to satisfy your seafood, land-based or vegetarian cravings to the full. The menu features some of the most delicious ingredients Liverpool has to offer, including lobster, prawns, fish cakes, garlic mushrooms, seafood pasta and seafood risotto. The price point is also very fair considering the quality of the food and the fantastic location. You will definitely feel as though you are getting value for money.
As well as its main menu, which includes a huge surf and turf, a whole seabass and lobster and chips, there’s also a range of ‘special’ dishes on a daily/weekly basis depending on the availability of produce. The team will always make you aware of the special dishes during your visit or feel free to ask them what’s on when you visit. If seafood isn’t your catch, they also offer a ‘from the land’ based menu that includes a halloumi burger, 28-day matured sirloin steak and chicken skewers to name a few.
The bar and cocktail lounge area is a friendly, relaxing place while the adjacent public and private dining areas are designed to provide an unparalleled, intimate eating and drinking experience. There is onsite free car parking and outside seating areas for those balmy summer nights.
From cruise ships to football fans
It seems that everything has fallen into place for Cargo, not just in terms of its fantastic chef and owners, but because the cruise terminal is on its doorstep and the Isle of Man ferries too, which means that this corner of Princes Parade is often bustling now that travel has ignited again. Not to mention Everton football stadium is only a 10-minute drive away. Needless to say, because of the location, great reputation and fresh food, this restaurant gets packed!
This is the perfect location for a get-together and Cargo is more than happy to accommodate any occasion. Don’t miss out and book your space via the button below.
