Who doesn’t love an Instagrammable sushi plate alongside Asian inspired small plates? With nothing but good vibes inside this Tokyo-themed venue, it’s a cracking place for both food and aesthetic. Also worth noting is the epic selection of Japanese whisky and sake on offer, as well as the classic Wapping Wharf location, meaning you can also capture some decent twilight snaps next to the Harbourside.

We love the colour scheme at Flour & Ash. The pastel blues and pinks, alongside the foliage are the classic Instagram backdrop. Serving up some delicious pizzas and Italian small plates, Flour & Ash is a brilliantly laid back spot to enjoy good quality food and capture it all as you go.

The philosophy behind Muse is that every guest should leave with their expectations exceeded, and it’s doing a great job at making sure they do. The interior is as Instagrammable as it gets with comfortable chairs in blue and pastel pink and a ceiling covered with cherry blossom trees to match the aesthetics. Food is presented on plates with the same attention to detail as the interior; it’s a fusion of European favourites with Asian flavours. You’ll find starters such as sweet potato, ginger and spring onion soup or smoked duck, chicken and sour cherry terrine sourdough toast. The mains include creamy fish pie, vegetable risotto, aubergine Bolognese, vegan ravioli and many more. The trees are the perfect backdrop for any occasion and the food will satisfy even the pickiest eater. Definitely worth a visit.

Yeo Valley Canteen is a cute restaurant located on a hill that offers unbeatable views of the surrounding countryside. The interior is modern and comfortable, and while it might not be a typically Instagrammable space it’s the gorgeous view that makes it so special. When the weather’s nice enough, you should definitely sit outside and watch the green scenery spread over the Blangdon area; sunsets are especially spectacular here. Even if you don’t get the best seat, you’ll still feel relaxed and comfortable thanks to the friendly staff ready to make your day. The menu is especially nice breakfast time; we recommend the Strode Valley Organic Poached Eggs on Toasted English Muffin Florentine, Blagdon Smoked Trout or Smoked Denhay Back Bacon. There’s also a kid’s menu for the younger guests and the bar is fully stocked with local wines, beers and ciders, which makes it perfect for any occasion.

If you want to bring colour into your life, there’s no better way to do it than by visiting a Mexican kitchen. As far as the dining industry goes, Chido Wey ticks all the boxes: the food is delicious and unique, the staff know how to have a laugh and are always ready to help, plus there’s the interior that lends to the good vibes. The funky art on the yellow walls create a friendly atmosphere and could be a great backdrop for an Instagram photo. The menu consists of the best Mexican delights, ranging from bold-flavoured starters to delicious mains (burritos, quesadillas, tacos, ropa vieja…), all taste even better paired with cocktails. If you have a sweet tooth, you should also try churros chocolate and salt butterscotch. The venue is great for casual gatherings and small celebrations.

Cosy Club is one of the most aesthetically pleasing venues in Bristol. Located in the historic part of the city, the venue lives up to expectations with a Neo-Palladian style interior. The restaurant used to be a banking hall so it’s no surprise that it features marble flooring, beautiful stonework and the iconic dome roof. It’s an elegant place that would be perfect for a date or a dinner with your loved one. To fully experience what the venue has to offer we recommend visiting during dinner time. There are plenty of sharing plates you can order to try a few different dishes, followed by sophisticated mains. The black truffle and ricotta ravioli are delicious and can be paired with Gavi del Comune di Gavi wine. Then there are the desserts that you can’t miss out on; we especially recommend the salted caramel and chocolate mousse.

New Moon on the Quay
cuisinesInternational, Tapas

New Moon on the Quay is a tapas restaurant with a bohemian and rustic feel to it. The inside is filled with plants and oozes a cosy atmosphere. The venue has an outside terrace which is especially pleasant at nighttime, and gives you a gorgeous harbourside view. Since it’s a family-run establishment, you can expect ‘homemade’ meals with influences from all around the globe. The restaurant aims to make sure that the tapas it serves aren’t just a collection of dishes but also memories expressed in food, and you can really tell how passionate the staff are by the quality of the dishes. The menu has something for everyone, from Thai coconut chicken and meat tortellini to herb-tossed sourdough and crispy fried calamari. If you’re having dessert, ask for pan patat – it’s a sweet potato and banana pudding, and it’s simply delicious.

Milk Thistle is a speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar located in the city centre in what was once an old merchant’s house. Spread over four floors, the venue boasts four rooms, each with stunning architecture and a slightly different vibe. The main ground floor bar called Parlour is especially gorgeous with a unique interior; its black walls work surprisingly well with vintage lamps and red leather sofas, giving it an old-fashioned look with a modern touch. If not for the Instagrammable decor, you should definitely visit for one of the incredible cocktails with intriguing names: Cure & The Cause, Fall from Grace, Milk Thistle and so on. There are also plenty of classics like Martini and Margarita cocktails if you aren’t feeling very adventurous. The venue gets busy so it’s best to book it in advance.

The best part about Bambalan is that it has a rooftop terrace with stunning city views (what can be more Instagrammable than a beautiful sunset?), plus a DJ every weekend to create a party atmosphere. The interior is quite modern with rustic elements, and it can be extremely cosy when it’s cold outside. The menu consists of vibrant Mediterranean-inspired small plates and some yummy burgers like a double cheeseburger, buttermilk fried chicken burger and a Beyond Meat burger with vegan cheese and house fries. There’s also a wood-fired sourdough pizza if you like comfort food, as well as plenty of healthier options such as a chickpea salad. Additionally, you can expect a seasonal cocktail menu, draught beers and fantastic wines to wash down that lovely food. What’s not to like?

Mangosteen is a small Thai tapas bar and restaurant with a neon sign that gives the interior a nice red glow. The atmosphere is best in the evenings and it’s the perfect spot for an intimate or casual gathering. Established in 2024, the venue is already a great addition to Bristol’s dining scene thanks to its affordable and high-quality food. On the menu, there are plenty of small plates, from tom yam soups to classics such as spring rolls and chicken satay. The main dishes feature seafood plates (think Thai prawn stir fry), as well as curry dishes and rice and noodles. If you aren’t familiar with Thai food, you should definitely try the chicken green curry; one of the most popular options. The staff are friendly and always happy to offer recommendations.
