The May Bank Holiday in Bristol
We love a long weekend here at Dish Cult, and as the evenings start to get warmer and the days longer, we’ve rounded up a variety of venues for you to enjoy the Great British May Bank Holiday weekend! Here are your best bets for a cracking three-day weekend in Bristol.
A cracking venue where you can enjoy cider and cheese in the sun aboard a boat – what’s not to love? The Apple Cider Boat is moored in the heart of Bristol and – with its magnificent atmosphere – is the ideal spot to enjoy a daytime pint in the sun. There are no reservations, so it is sure to be busy, but fear not for there are two floors on this epic floating vessel, so come down and get yourself and your pals on a bench.
A super fun and tasty venue, serving up plates of Cali-Mexican food, which includes delicious burritos and cocktails. Still pretty new to Bristol’s Old Town, having opened in 2020, you should definitely head on down and give this place some love as the food and service is absolutely terrific. Ethically minded, LGBTQ proud and serving up fresh, zingy flavours – we love it here!
For the meat lovers in Bristol, this is a divine steakhouse and late night bar that we guarantee you will love. With Pasture’s own in-house butchers handpicking and preparing every steak, you can rest assured knowing you can expect absolutely delicious food every time. Using local produce and fire based cooking, epic service and an open interior, we can’t get enough of the “fine dining for everyone” attitude here.
We love an independent venue and this cocktail bar down by the water is a fab one. Ideal for bigger groups of friends or a fun date night, Loose Cannon’s drink menu offers a range of classics, as well as exciting new options created by the team. A venue that supports local artists and DJs too, and hosts some epic events, Loose Cannon is certain to host a good bank holiday party!
We adore Gambas Tapas Bar! Another Wapping Wharf banger, upstairs in the containers with a stunning view of the harbour, this place is ideal for date night or a get-together with friends. The tapas and wine on offer is absolutely delicious and right next to M Shed and Arnolfini. Ideal if you fancy incorporating both art and dinner into your long weekend. Dreamy.
