On interior alone, Lahpet gets a ten from us! But does the food live up to the dreamy decor? As one of London’s only restaurants to specialise in authentic Burmese cooking, Lahpet aims to bring the flavours of Myanmar to Shoreditch. This weekend we recommend you change it up and opt for the Burmese bottomless brunch. This is something unique: think fragrant noodle bowls, paired with a choice of free-flowing iced G&T’s, lemongrass vodka sodas, Kirin beer, or house wine for just £25 per person. Trust us, this is going to be your new favourite brunch spot!

The Cut at Young Vic
cuisinesBritish, Bar, Bistro

Forget dinner and a show, what you really need is breakfast and a show. Thankfully, this is something you can get at The Cut at Young Vic. The philosophy is “to create great shows for great people” and the team also creates great food. Try the healthy breakfast options, including avocado and poached eggs, and smoothies, or go full Saturday hangover-cure with the open breakfast burger, and amazing pastries. Breakfast is served until 11.30, then lunch starts, meaning even if you’re running seriously late, it’s one of the best places to grab brunch in London.

Lordship Lane in East Dulwich makes for a lovely weekend browse, and is lined with boutiques, cafes and pubs. Spinach is one of its most popular eateries, a bright and homely space where everything from the produce to the furniture is curated and sustainably sourced. There’s a generous brunch menu that features baleadas (a tortilla wrap topped with refried beans, spinach, crushed avocado, feta and chilli sauce), homemade granola, and brioche French toast, which can all be accompanied by a smoothie or a cocktail – or both!

Igloos on the Thames you say? Sign us up! These guys are one of the coolest bars in London, with incredible outdoor igloos, decorated to suit the season, a raised terrace, and a super trendy bar. There’s a decent brunch menu with pancakes, a garden breakfast with healthy greens included, and obviously a great eggs benedict, all of which would be rude not to wash down with a cocktail. All the seats are designed to make the most of the view over the Thames, so it’s the perfect spot for brunch with a view.

The outlook here is gorgeous. The canal boat-cum-brunch spot, designed by the “godfather” of British pop art, Sir Peter Blake, sits on the Grand Union Canal, allowing you to enjoy brunch while looking out over the water. Grab a seat on the upper deck and feel the breeze in your hair, or sit indoors when it’s a bit colder: it’s no less atmospheric. Brunch is generally healthy yet tasty, with smashed avocado and shakshouka, two of our favourite dishes. Best of all, this is another place for brunch with a view in London that does bottomless Prosecco or mimosas for a set price. How great?

Daylesford

Daylesford sources most of its ingredients from its very own farms, from meat and cheese to fruit and vegetables, so you can be assured that whatever you eat here is high quality and seasonal. The brunch menu features fresh cold pressed juices, live natural yoghurt and sourdough toast, as well as the truly free range eggs served various ways. You could tuck into scrambled eggs with sustainably sourced salmon or bacon, sausage or tomatoes, or if you prefer them poached, you can have them in a classic eggs benedict or with smashed avocado. Wash it all down with a Daylesford Mary — a blend of horseradish vodka, Daylesford tomato juice, lemon, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco and cracked black pepper.
