Christmas and New Year's Eve with Lavang

Lavang is bringing diners in Sheffield ‘Christmas with a sensational fusion twist’ this year. A whimsical, magical ambience is certainly on the popular restaurant’s festive menu this year. The charming Fulwood Road dining destination, along with all of its cosy nooks and perfect crannies, is the ideal spot for celebrating your cherished moments with all your loved ones, family and friends alike this Christmas and New Year’s.

Forget about who’s hosting Christmas this year and don’t fret about all that cooking on the day, because Lavang will be hosting an incredible five course Christmas Day Lunch menu from 1pm Christmas Day, until 4pm.

For £95pp, diners will be welcomed with a ‘Panipuri’ canapé (blood orange Bombay mix), followed by a choice of starter:

  • Cod Bhajiya – served with a tamarind chutney
  • Yorkshire Makni – pulled chicken Makni Yorkshire pudding
  • Sabzi Pakora – carrot, red onion and turnip pakora

For their mains, diners can choose from:

  • Turkey Rogan – turkey breast, cherry tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes and ghee
  • Gosht – braised lamb, Mooli, caramelised onions and curry leaf
  • Kodu Sabzi – butternut squash, peas, chickpeas and kidney beans
  • Maach – pan-fried seabass served with Bhuna sauce

Desserts, meanwhile, consist of:

  • Cointreau chocolate sponge
  • Baileys cheesecake
  • Strawberry and date samosa

To finish the fantastic Christmas Day lunch, there will be a Tia Maria on the rocks.

Lavang is also now offering Christmas party packages. Group bookings include:

  • Drinks & Canapés £15pp
  • Drinks & Buffet £25pp
  • Drinks & Banquet £35pp
  • Fizz or Cocktail Reception +£5pp

All packages are available for private hire too, seven days a week until New Year’s Eve. Diners can make a four hour booking slot between 12pm to 6pm. Drinks include any two single serve wines, beers or soft drinks per person, while the menu can be tailored to your specification and dietary needs.

If you’re looking to book something for New Year’s Eve, Lavang’s also created a stunning four course menu, with entertainment, that’s available on 31st December 8pm until close, for just £65pp.

There will be live music from the super talented Ariarna Joy, along with a mesmerising fire performance!

To begin, the NYE menu offers Papar and chutney, followed by starters of:

  • Haryali Champa – tandoor cooked lamb chops, coriander, garlic, mint and chilli marinade
  • Aloo Pakora – sweet potato, red onion, cumin, parsley and Garam Masala
  • Chapli – minced chicken, tamarind, garlic and caramelised onions
  • Maachli – lightly battered cod seasoned with ground spices

The main courses include:

  • Rajastani Gosht – baby lamb shank, naga, Indian whole spices, sun-dried tomatoes and quail eggs
  • Jhinga – king prawns, roasted garlic, butternut squash, mase and mirch
  • Murgh – chicken inner fillet, mung, Sheffield honey and lemon zest
  • Niramish – tandoor oven baked aubergines, aloo, corn, saag and chickpeas

For the sweet tooth among you, there’s a brilliant choice of desserts:

  • Poached pear and Kichdi
  • Pistachio Kulfi
  • Strawberry Chambord Eton Mess

And to round off, there’s a digestif of Amaretto.
