One fluid space

This venue officially celebrated its new look in style by serving up more than 6,000 cocktails in its first four days of opening! So, needless to say this is a very popular location for locals and visitors alike. Birdies Bar & Garden was first established in 2016 by owners Kip Piper and Danny Bolger who are the local Liverpool duo behind popular venues Ghetto Golf and The Brunch Club. There’s live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, ranging from bands, solo artists and DJs so there’s always an amazing atmosphere and a great crowd.

Owner Danny Bolger says, “We’ve had a lot of fun reinventing Birdies Bar, creating one fluid space that boasts three unique but complementary areas. The inspiration behind the rebrand came from our vision of creating a resort right here in Cains Brewery. The space is not only a real sun trap but the perfect haven to while away an evening late into the night with friends, family or colleagues, accompanied by live music and drinks.

“Boasting an impressive stage and state of the art sound system, the indoor area makes the ideal location for events and live entertainment and pairs up perfectly with our outdoor festival inspired space, which includes the likes of beanbags and booths for an informal yet quirky vibe that suits the area perfectly.”

Reinvention

Kip Piper also said, “This venue has always been a popular destination in the Baltic Triangle thanks to its relaxed atmosphere and innovative food and drinks offering, but we’ve gone one step further and created a seamless, multi-purpose space that can be enjoyed any time of year. Whether it’s for a few weekend tipples or a private function. What’s more, our creative team has worked tirelessly to build a number of additions such as our 22-foot palm trees, made by hand in our warehouse from rubber and metal to bring a tropical vibe to our outdoor area all year long.

“As part of our plans to make Birdies Bar the biggest bar in the Baltic Triangle, we have also taken over On Air to create Birdies Live Room, whilst the former car park is now operating as an additional outside bar, appropriately named Birdies Summer Garden along with our original Birdies Bar area. As part of our plans for expansion, we wanted to really showcase the brand and so we’ve also introduced an exciting, vibrant logo that reflects the fun, fresh and relaxed environment we’re trying to create.”

Fully loaded

The venue is dog-friendly so your four legged fur babies can enjoy the live music, sun and cocktails with you until 6.30pm everyday. Your two-legged babies are also welcome until 6.30pm, too!

If you’re in the mood for some finger-food then Birdies is the place. It serves a range of wings and loaded fries, plus an extensive children’s menu by Locked & Loaded that includes a mini burger, popcorn chicken and fish fingers. The loaded fries are always super cheesy, and the bacon dust adds a salty kick that balances out the gooey goodness! Other loaded fries options include the Holy Trinity, which are fries topped with crispy bacon, ‘facon’ crumbs and of course, the naughty cheese sauce. The burgers are also to die for. Our personal favourite is the S&P chicken burger served with Chinese pickled slaw, char sui sauce, sriracha mayo, lettuce and coriander. Spicy and delicious!

This venue gets super busy, especially on a hot day because of its vibrant outdoor space, quaint fairy lights, amazing music and great drinks, so we recommend booking, especially if there is a large group of you!
