One of our favourite places for brunch in Auckland, these guys serve up tasty plates all day long. With a bright, airy dining room, heading here is bound to wake you right up, no matter how late you were up the previous night. They have classic dishes like a big breakfast, chorizo hash, and eggs Benedict, alongside slightly more out-there morning choices like a burger, chicken waffles, or even fish and chips. On certain dates they even serve up bottomless brunch where you can eat and drink to your heart’s content for just $45 pp.
A truly gorgeous venue, Ortolana is like an oasis of greenery and wood in the middle of the city. With a large outside area, it’s the perfect place if you’re in need of some fresh air after dancing all night. They serve up healthy dishes including granola, and free range eggs on toast, alongside other substantial dishes. Our favourite is the fried potatoes and smoked fish, topped with a soft egg, yum! They also have a great cocktail menu, featuring Bloody Marys, and a pear, cucumber, mint, and vodka concoction that will definitely perk you right up.
Anywhere with an onsite bakery is going to be a sure-fire winner when it comes to brunch in Auckland. A converted ex-warehouse, this spot is huge without feeling cavernous, a strangely welcoming space that holds a bar, cafe, restaurant, and bakery. Choose from some of their homemade pastries washed down with breakfast cocktails, or go for the classic avocado on sourdough with poached egg and almond (the sourdough is their own bread, obviously.)
Boasting one of the most diverse brunch menus in Auckland, Hinge & Co dish up brunch dishes that will have you exclaiming in delight. With plates including a shepherd’s pie omelette, chicken papardelle, and pork belly, you won’t be left with the usual sausage and eggs here. Situated in charming Clevedon, this place is the perfect place to start a day of exploring. You might even end back there for some of their extremely Instagrammable dinners.
With a huge outside patio, colourful inside, and gorgeous views over Auckland harbour, there’s really nowhere better to enjoy a morning than The Junction. The team behind this place are super socially conscious and do their best to create a positive impact on both the environment, and the community around them. Their brunch menu is pretty healthy too with a green omelette filled with tasty veg, and bagels filled with sauteed kale and creamed herb feta featuring on the menu. They’re also really child friendly, making it a great place for a family weekend brunch.
