Who doesn’t love a cheese-loaded meal, no matter the time of day?
Cheese Bar is a fairly recent addition to Christchurch’s selection of restaurants, and visitors will not be disappointed with their wide array of cheesy delights.
Located in Christchurch, Cheese Bar is a charming little appendage connected to the luxurious Fino hotel. Yanina and Terence Donaldson are the founders of this restaurant, with humble roots extending from their cult favourite food truck Easy Cheesy.
Lockdown came with some hardships for this husband and wife team, but they managed to spread their wings and evolved into a fully fledged cheese bar open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests have the opportunity to taste fine cheeses from around the world, countries in particular being Italy and France. Terence and Yanina also nod to local companies, also sourcing cheese from various locations around New Zealand- more notably from Oamaru.
Distinguishing themselves from other eateries, Cheese Bar focuses solely on creating cheese-based dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We’re talking burgers, chicken waffles, pastas, and salads – all of which are enveloped in high quality cheesy goodness. Some of their most notable menu items include their mac n’ raclette cheese pasta, cream cheese brulee, and baked brie with garlic beetroot radish and honey roasted nuts.
There’s no doubt if you’re a cheese-lover, Cheese Bar should definitely be your number one stop for your next trip down to the South Island whether it be for the amazing location, delicious food, or simply for the love of cheese. Beware, this establishment is immensely popular among locals, so make sure to book in early to get your hands on the gooey cheesy goodness.
You can find Cheese Bar at 87 Kilmore Street, Christchurch – open Monday to Sunday, with bookings available here!
