A unique idea conceptualised in the centre of Belfast, Alba is the city’s first ever Scottish steakhouse. Family-run, Alba offers a fine dining experience, utilising locally sourced produce and quality cuts of meat to create one-of-a-kind Scottish inspired plates.

Taking classic dishes and turning them on their head, to start guests can enjoy the likes of traditional scallops or bruschetta but accompanied by the more unusual neep pureé and buckfast jam. If you want to get the full Alba experience, then go for the trio of Haggis or traditional Scottish soup with smoked haddock and soda bread.

Alba offers a selection of tasty main course items, with options for vegetarians. You can’t miss out on the extensive steak menu – something that has made the restaurant a regular feature on local social media. With the choice of six different steak options, visitors are sure to find their preferred cut on this thorough list. Mouthwatering cuts include the sirloin and fillet, as well as the “Butter Steak”.
What can’t be missed, however, is Alba’s infamous 1200g Tomahawk Steak, which is perfect for sharing, served on the bone and accompanied by two sauces and two sides.

If the steak menu doesn’t tempt you, then the award-winning burger might. A finalist in Scotland’s Best Burger competition, Alba’s Glasgow Burger includes all the best bits the country has to offer: a 7oz beef burger nestled in an Irn Bru brioche bun with haggis wellington, braised beef cheek and Lockerbie cheddar.
As well as all these tempting savoury options you can round off your experience with one of Alba’s delicious desserts, which have the same classic Scottish twist. This also rings true with the restaurant’s lengthy cocktail menu, which has whimsical names such as Glasgow Kiss, Bru’in a Storm, The Flying Scotsman and Highland Fling. Not only in name, these tempting cocktails utilise a wide range of classic and even more obscure Scottish spirits to create a truly authentic experience.

A new addition to Belfast’s culinary scene, make sure to get down to Alba for a one-of-a-kind Scottish dining experience which includes great food, delicious drinks and a unique atmosphere.
