Valentine's Day at The Bottling Plant
The Bottling Plant in Plymouth is in the mood for love this Valentine’s Day and has announced a special treat for diners…
Guests on arrival at The Bottling Plant will be welcomed with a glass of Champagne to toast themselves, their friendship, their love – whatever they’re in the mood for celebrating.
This is then followed by a scrumptious five-course menu that features Apperitifs, Starters, Mains, a Palette Cleanser and Dessert.
The Apperitifs, served on canapes – three per person, include Salmon Rillette (pate), Aubergine caviar – VG, and Anchoiade (which is a classic Provencal dish made from anchovies, tapenade, grape oil and garlic), Mushroom Pate – VG and Hummus – VG.
From the Starters, diners can choose from a Baked Camembert for two; Pan Seared Scallops (£2.00 extra) with smokey pea puree and chorizo; Oysters
(£2.00 extra) – three oysters with tabasco/lemon juice; and Vegan garlic gnocchi – VG.
The Main event leads to diners choosing from a juicy Fillet Steak
(£3.00 extra) with roasted cherry tomatoes, French Fries, and a blue cheese or Bernaise sauce; an Artichoke Barigoule – VG – Artichoke heart served with fried onions and carrots flavoured with rosemary, garlic and thyme, deglazed with white wine vinegar and white wine; or a Seared Tuna Steak, served with sauce vierge (tomato and basil) with fennel puree laced with saffron, accompanied by a medley of roasted vegetables.
After the Palette Cleanser, guests can round off their amazing five-course experience with a choice of Raspberry and Champagne Posset, served with shortbread biscuit; Strawberry Parfait, served with a pink praline poached pear and almond tuile; Chocolate Mi-cuit (In English – Chocolate warmed lava cake, yum!) with vanilla crème anglaise and mint ganache; or a Poached Apple with Red Wine – VG, with salted caramel crumb and vanilla ice cream.
