Bringing the flavours and feel of the Mediterranean to Belfast’s city centre, Buba offers something completely unique to anything else on offer in the city. Since first opening its doors in 2018, Buba has quickly become one of the must visit spots in the city, whether for its eclectic mix of dishes, tempting cocktails or bustling atmosphere.
From its space in St Annes Square, Buba has worked to find the perfect balance of exotic produce, flavoursome spices and rich culinary traditions, enabling it to create a stand out menu.
Guests have their pick of a variety of Mediterranean inspired plates including a range of hot and cold tapas (perfect for sharing), dishes from the grill, main course options as well as a unique selection of desserts. Some of Buba’s most popular menu items include the famous halloumi fries, Sicilian duck sliders, spiced lamb and the tasty crispy aubergine salad.
Showcasing the rich cultural mix of Eastern Mediterranean cooking, visitors will never be lost for choice at Buba, with exciting dishes to tempt everyone’s taste buds.
In keeping with its passion for inclusivity and exciting flavours, Buba goes above and beyond, not only to cater for vegans but to offer a wealth of delicious options, just as inspired as the main menu.
Vegan guests can delight in stuffed mushrooms or peppers, BBQ cauliflower, chilli hummus and traditional couscous plates. As well as dedicated vegan dishes, almost half of Buba’s main menu – including almost all of the sides – are vegan, meaning those following a plant-based diet are spoiled for choice.
Luckily for those with a sweet tooth, Buba also offers not just one, but three tasty vegan desserts. Difficult to resist, vegans have the choice of a refreshing selection of sorbets, rich caramel and pistachio cheesecake as well as a moreish chocolate brownie.
If dinner doesn’t suit you, you can also stop by this Mediterranean wonderland for a Friday or Saturday lunch. Open between 12pm and 4pm, guests can sample the same great flavours and dishes but with unique additions to add to the excitement.
In addition to the exciting food offering, one of the main attractions to Buba is the unique atmosphere it creates. Not only is it located in one of the most popular and lively areas of the city, Saint Annes Square, but it has created a decor unlike any other.
The inside of the restaurant is an open-plan space, filled with rich colours and mood lighting. Upon visiting, diners are met by a mix of plush banquet seating and individual tables lining the perimeter of the restaurant. As well as this, Buba offers a high seating area overlooking the excitement of the cocktail and kitchen staff to add the drama of any meal.
This city centre eatery showcases a bright yet warm colour palette made up of burnt orange, teal and copper, perfectly complimenting the exciting food offerings. Whilst listening to an artfully created playlist of funky atmospheric beats, under a centrepiece of 20 multicoloured origami paper lanterns, you will be mesmerised, filled with anticipation for your upcoming meal.
As the weather heats up in the summer months, why not take your meal out onto the lively streets of Belfast, on Buba’s outdoor heated terrace. The perfect way to enjoy the exotic menu, guests can sample a selection of mezze plates and one of this restaurant’s famous cocktails in the extensive outside space. If the food wasn’t enough, the atmosphere outdoors at Buba is sure to create the true Mediterranean holiday feel.
