New menu launch from A Peculiar Tea

Since opening in December 2021, concept restaurant A Peculiar Tea has proven popular with Belfast locals looking for a unique and creative dining experience. To give something back to the city for all the support, chef Gemma Austin and her team have announced their new limited menu, ‘Mind Your Mood, With Food’, to raise money for local mental health charity Lighthouse Belfast.

Launching on 26th July and running for six weeks, the new menu will feature a range of dishes inspired by Northern Ireland’s comfort food that have been given A Peculiar Tea twist.

As always, the restaurant’s interiors will match the menu theme. However, for the first two weeks, the team at Lighthouse will be invited in to decorate in whatever way they wish to really highlight the value they bring as a mental health charity.

Priced at £58 per person, the seven course menu will give guests the chance to taste Northern Irish comfort food “as they never have before”. The official menu, as with all others, will only be available to diners upon arrival. However, menu items will include cheese, ham, cod, corned beef, strawberry, and mint humbugs. So, we’ll leave the rest up to your imagination for now.

A Peculiar Tea will also be offering an afternoon tea, priced at £35 per person, that will follow the same theme. A great treat and a fantastic way to support an important local charity.

Taking to social media, A Peculiar Tea wrote: “The purpose of this menu is to provide incredible charities with a platform to spread their message and show people what they can do to help/provide.

“We aim to raise as much money as possible throughout the six weeks and also will be donating whatever we can afford from the restaurant profits to the charities.

“The six weeks will be of no cost to the charities as we will be providing everything for free.”

With this exciting new menu, A Peculiar Tea will be supporting three different charities for a two week period each.

Lighthouse Belfast, a mental health charity that helps those struggling with suicidal thoughts, depression, or grief from bereavement, is the first charity that will receive support from the menu. The charity provides a range of counselling and support services, as well as free help and advice.
