No margarita list would be complete without a mention of the historical Mexican Cafe on Victoria Street West. Capturing margarita-lovers with their attractive Happy Hour margaritas and 12 different flavours to choose from, it’s safe to say the Mexican Cafe will always leave you satisfied. (P.S They highly suggest you request your marg shaken, not blended for a true Mexican experience!)
Home of the margarita pitchers, The Flying Burrito Brothers has been running Newmarket’s Mexican scene since way back. Taking their tequila very seriously, head along to the central spot to try one of their Tequila tasting flights to find your fave, before diving mouth-first into a pitcher of the stuff. If you’re on the shore, not to worry – The Flying Burrito Brothers now also operate out of an Albany joint too, making their margaritas that much sweeter for North Shore patrons.
Birkenhead residents, Jose’s Cantina, know a thing or two about making a mouthwatering margarita. Labelling them as “addictive”, it’s hard to say no to another round of their tasty tipple. Not one to shy away from playing with fire and heat, our top pick at Jose’s is their mango margarita with a chilli salt rim. There’s always something exciting going on the Birkenhead joint – between activated charcoal margs and live music and happy hours, the atmosphere is just another added bonus.
