Where to eat out in spring in Bristol

Spring comes with an increase in daylight, which for many is synonymous with more frequent social outings and the desire to leave the house again. To celebrate springtime, it’s always a good idea to treat yourself to a dining experience, whether it includes seasonal food or refreshing cocktails. Below you can find the best venues to visit in Bristol to really embrace that change in season and be more present in the moment.

Since spring symbolises growth and new possibilities, the best way to celebrate that mindset is by exploring new flavours. Thai food is always a cuisine that features an abundance of exotic ingredients and a variety of dishes that can help you start the new season off right. If we piqued your interest, you should visit Giggling Squid whose mission it is to introduce you to meals that are adventurous and welcoming, as its website says. On the menu, you can find classic starters such as Samui zingy prawns, Mah Kwan pepper pork belly and plenty of stir fry, seafood, meat and curry dishes for mains. If you need recommendations, a member of the staff will be happy to assist you. Located just a short walk from the Clifton Observatory, the restaurant is a perfect starting point for a family day out or a date with a friend or significant other.

The Garden of Easton
cuisinesSmall Plates, Vegetarian-Friendly, Locally Sourced

Spring means it’s time to replace cosy coffee shops and sitting in front of a fireplace by popping into airy restaurants during lunch breaks to relax and enjoy good food. In terms of spring-themed interiors and atmosphere, The Garden of Easton is the first one that comes to mind. The restaurant is best described as rustic and artful as it’s plant-filled and serves creative plates, most of which are vegetarian. Some menu options include crispy aubergine with sweet soy sauce, green peppers and potatoes, togarashi beetroot salad, savoury Japanese pancakes, Belgian waffles and many more to satisfy your appetite and sweet tooth. The Garden of Easton also relies on locally sourced products. This means that by supporting the restaurant you’re also supporting local businesses and protecting the natural environment, which is what makes spring so amazing in the first place.

Each year most of the venues in Bristol update their menu to make sure it reflects the change in season. But in the case of Turtle Bay, you can expect refreshing cocktails all year round. Spring is all about fruity flavours so your best bet would be going for the good old Mai Tai Punch with fresh lime and pineapple, or making it more seasonal and sipping on the Strawberry Daiquiri. Spring symbolises starting fresh and what better way to end the previous season than with a delicious cocktail in hand? Don’t forget to bring your friends to share the good vibes with.
