The Royal Hotel is a long-established Stromness hostelry now owned and operated by local couple Karen and Gareth Crichton who also own and operate The Ferry Inn in Stromness. <br/><br/>Our comfortable Hudson Lounge offers an extensive bar menu with local pub grub favourites sitting alongside our range of speciality seafood and beef dishes cooked over the chargrill. The décor evokes Stromness’ links with the North West Territories where for many years Orkneymen swelled the ranks of gentlemen explorers, adventurers and traders of the Hudson’s Bay Company. The bar boasts a fine range of malts, gins, rums and local ales and there is tea and coffee on the go from morning til night.<br/><br/>Please note that the hotel has no private parking though there is space for drop-off and pick-up in the street. General parking is to be found 150m to the north at the harbour and ferry terminal, or off the Back Road behind the hotel at the Old Academy with access down the Boys Lane beside the hotel.
