The Highlander is an award winning family run free house that has been serving the local community and beyond for over 45 years. A proper, old English pub with all the informal, rustic charm of its 300 year old history. We're thrilled to have once again opened our gates! There are a number of rules & regulations that we must adhere to, and booking details as follows: PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE OUTSIDE ONLY & THE DINING ROOM & BAR WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. - Face masks must be worn once through the gates and unless seated. - Social distance rules remain in place. - Track & trace is a legal requirement. NHS QR codes are available to scan throughout the premises. - We are operating table service only & all guests must remain seated. We appreciate that this isn't always easy but we must ask that children are also seated at the table. Company Notice - We are only taking bookings for customers dining with us. - Parties of up to 8 guests can be booked online. Please call to enquire for any groups exceeding this. - There are no parking facilities at the pub. - Please enter through the car park gates & wait at the entrance of the tent to be seated. - Please wash your hands! We have barrels of hand sanitiser available - please help yourself on entry & throughout your visit. - To avoid handling disposable copies, our menu can be found at www.highlanderhitchin.co.uk/eat. - The tented area is well covered but NOT heated. We are looking forward to the arrival of summer but in the meantime we do have hot water bottles to take the edge off, or please bring plenty of layers! - We are only taking card payments at present (except AMEX) Please contact us for any bookings from 21st June onwards.
