The Galley is an independent fish and seafood restaurant awarded the Michelin Guide Plaque in 2026 (recognised every year since 2021) and an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence, the kitchen is led by Head Chef Han Wang: Le Cordon Bleu in London, a stage at Core by Clare Smyth, and a senior role at Michael Caines's Lympstone Manor, brought home to Devon. Han writes the menu each morning around what's been landed at Brixham Harbour and Newlands Market. Day-boat squid with house kimchi and guindilla chillies. St Austell rope-grown mussels in an 'nduja cream made from Good Game Devon Wagyu. Pan-fried sea bream with puttanesca and crispy capers — the chef's signature. Two courses £38.50, three £44.50, served at lunch and dinner. What surrounds the fish is sourced as carefully: native-breed Devon beef from Good Game; pork, lamb and charcuterie from Topsham Butchers, a few doors up Fore Street; cheese from West Country Cheeses, also on Fore Street; dairy from Oak Park Dairy in Cullompton; vanilla from Littlepod and ice cream from Granny Gothards, both in Cullompton.
