Nar Ottoman has a unique character and airy ambiance . The interior decor is contemporary and boasts new modern designer chairs, tables with white damask linen . The restaurant, which comfortably seats 120 persons inside an, is the ideal setting for private functions and special occasions. Diners can enjoy fine selection from our delicious summer and winter menu featuring an Ottoman flavor prepared by our team of expert chefs. It is available for exclusive use by private functions at specified times utilizing our Special Function Food & Beverage Packages, which include all beverages over a 4½ hour period or agreed time frame MENU Since 2000, Nar Ottoman has been compiling authentic recipes from a number of sources; the kitchen registers from Topkapi, Dolmabahce and Edirne Palaces, books and memoirs written by visiting overseas state officials, documents in Beyazit and Millet Libraries, and a book entitled "Bir Ziyafet Defteri" detailing the circumcision ceremony in November 1539 of Beyazid and Cihangir, the two sons of Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent. With the aid of old Ottoman dictionaries, Nar Ottoman has archived more than 150 original recipes, and serves them in its summer and winter menus. Each year Nar Ottoman offers special menus such as the "Ramadan Menu", "Dishes from Mehmet the Conqueror's Reign" during the week celebrating Istanbul's conquest, "Fish and Sea Food Week" in the autumn, "Food from Istanbul Kitchens", "Aphrodisiacs from the Palace Menu", and a "1950's New Years Menu". Nar Ottoman is very particular about the ingredients used in preparing these special dishes. In keeping with the original recipes, the restaurant obtains its bulgur and other cereals from Urfa, pistachios, dovme nisasta and oil from Gaziantep, lamb from Cowra Estate , smoked Cerkez cheese from Adapazari, hunnap from Finike, pomegranate and grape extract from Antakya, and specially produced olive oil from Ayvalik region. Each dish on the menu comes with its original Ottoman name and date.The Menu structure for large parties offers Hot and Cold Savouries with pre- dinner drinks, a menu consisting of 2 entrees, 2 main courses and 2 desserts which will be served alternately to guests or if you prefer a 3 course set menu without choices. All prices and menu items are based on current cost and availability and are subject to change. BEVERAGES The function beverage pack includes quality selected house wine for the duration of the function. Other wines can be selected from our extensive wine list and the additional cost charged to the package cost. Beverages are served freely for the agreed duration of the function package, thereafter beverages may be served on a cash bar basis or a new account may be opened.
