Montys of Kathmandu is a traditional and authentic Nepalese Restaurant, owned by husband and wife team of Shiva and Lina Gautam. Although we get wrongly categorised as Indian in some publications, we can say proudly, we are Nepalese all the way. All our Chefs and service staff are all Nepalese. Montys opened in 1997 and have been serving great Nepalese food ever since. We are unashamedly white cloth restaurant in the main restaurant and dark wood table tops in the wine bar which opened in May of 2026. We have a fine wine dining room called the Santa Rirta Wine room, a minimum spend and maximum occupancy applies in this room. This room can only be booked through Shiva. We source quality ingredients from locally as possible. All dishes are prepared and made in-house by our talented team of Chefs. We have on eof the largest wine list in the country. Montys has over time won numerous National Awards for its food as well as its wine list. We look forward to having the privilege of welcoming into our beautiful restaurant.
