CLOUDS is a cosy and high quality dim sum cafe and wine bar in the heart of St Werburghs, Bristol. Since opening in November 2024 it has quickly become a must-visit spot for local foodies and wine enthusiasts alike. Founded by the team behind Ah-Ma’s Dumplings - well known for their popular street-food stall and various pop-up events throughout the city - CLOUDS brings together the warmth and easy-going vibes of a neighbourhood cafe with the quality and attention to detail far beyond its diminutive stature. Handmade dumplings and fluffy steamed bao buns (made with organic flour from Shipton Mill in Tetbury) are the centrepieces of the menu, with weekly chef’s specials, ample sharing plates and elegantly simple side dishes rounding out the offering. This is paired with an extensive list of low-intervention, organic wines from independent producers, high-quality cocktails and a strong sake selection (which pairs particularly well with the subtle, fresh and balanced style of Cantonese cuisine). Founder Anita Cheung draws inspiration from the nourishing, home-cooked meals of her childhood, with every dish made fresh from scratch and quality and sustainability at the core of the business. The CLOUDS story began with ‘Ah-Ma’s Dumplings’, Anita’s first culinary endeavour, a street-food business named as a tribute to generations of women who continue to pass down recipes and techniques rooted in tradition and care. After 10 years out at the markets, CLOUDS marks a new chapter, offering Bristol a welcoming space to enjoy authentic Cantonese food made with love.
