About The Tayvallich Inn
Situated in the picturesque village of Tayvallich on the shores of Loch Sween, the Inn overlooks the beautiful natural harbour of Tayvallich bay. At the heart of this small and vibrant community, the Tayvallich Inn has always been a popular meeting place for sailors, holidaymakers, more recently kayakers and all who enjoy our warm hospitality and good food.
Established over 30 years ago, the Tayvallich Inn specialises in fresh, locally caught seafood, much of which is landed on our doorstep from the cold, pristine waters of the sound of Jura. Along with seafood we serve other fresh produce, sourcing locally where ever possible.

Great food with stunning views and great staff I would highly recommend it
Excellent service and lovely food! Would recommend!
We had an excellent meal, Langoustine starters and then veal and curry mains. We were late arriving but I was able to ring and advise them accordingly. Good selection to choose from on the menu and some specials. We were well looked after by the team and intend a further visit asap.
Fabulous meal! We will be back but live in South Ayrshire so we only visit family in Lochgair every couple of months! Keep up the good work !
Exceptional as always. Have been to Tayvallich Inn many times over the years, consistently great food, great service, great atmosphere. Idyllic location is an added bonus. Looking forward to my next visit.
Friendly welcoming staff and excellent food. Have visited several times before and will do so again.
As always a great welcome and a great meal in good company.. Always a pleasure to anticipate.
Very friendly and excellent service with great food in a beautiful location.
We had a lovely lunch and felt the service was friendly and the staff were welcoming.
Thank you for another wonderful lunch in the bar area. Food excellent as always and of course the wonderful views. The staff are so friendly and accommodating , kindly moving us to a bigger table so the dog had more room . We will be back again of course!
Excellent food and service. Would highly recommend
Great food & service as usual
Excellent service
Great local food, friendly staff, good craic!
Lovely meal in the bar this time at Tayvallich Inn. Great food, friendly and efficient service and lovelly atmosphere and views out to the lough.
Excellent service and the food was lovely as always.
Great food as always and even better that the fantastic lamb chops my partner enjoyed were sourced from a farm just around the corner, the beef vindaloo was superb as well so top marks yet again.
A proper local pub. Friday live music night - a lovely, warm atmosphere, we really enjoyed the evening.
Excellent as always!
A frequent visitor to Tayvallich however really disappointed with your gluten free options for both adult and child coeliac. Menu states rustic chips are gluten free when they are cooked in same fryer as other gluten containing ingredients they are no longer gluten free due to cross contamination. Menu states burger “can be made gluten free” when in fact you cannot provide a gluten free bun and the chips are not gf.. Tempura prawns are also done in the same fryer so not gluten free either. please Tayvallich Inn can someone review the menu and provide accurate information for those that have a dietary requirement.. currently your menu is very misleading which is a worry and lacks choice for anyone with a gluten intolerance
Excellent meal after a long walk in Taynish...arrived early and we were accommodated with no fuss....thanks again.Very recommended!
Beautiful food as usual and service was top class Our favourite place to eat these days
Looking forward to more great meals this summer. Always a great experience and very ready to please. Thank you
Excellent lunch, the menu was extensive and our dishes were brilliant. The kids options were generous including mussels Highly recommend
