Fine food and great service.
We had an outstanding visit to the Royal Oak, excellent food with top service. We were treated very well throughout and of course the food made it for us. Can’t wait to come back🤞🤞
Arrived on a packed Bank Holiday Monday evening. Despite being rushed off their feet all the staff were very friendly and really helpful. No problems with the food order which arrived in good time. Would definitely visit again.
We booked a pitch on the campsite for one evening whilst on our adventures and what a great decision we made! The facilities were ideal for what we needed and our pooch loved the space he had running around and some needed chill time after all the walking…We also booked a table in the restaurant for the evening, we were looked after from the moment we walked in, staff were all fab and the food was amazing!! Highly recommend the American sharing board, delicious!! We will definitely be recommending this little gem and will be paying a return visit next time we are over in the Peak District! Thank you!
This is our second year to peaks , and part of us coming back a second year was wonderful campsite (Pomeroy), then the Royal Oak a mile or so up the path ,and the gluten free options xxx thank you And the wonderful friendly , knowledgeable staff xxxx
Always enjoy visiting the Royal Oak
Great food Good service Great location
The food was very nice and the portions were generous. We will definitely come back!
Considering it was a busy bank holiday weekend, the service was quick and efficient and staff very friendly!
Excellent
Service absolutely spot on, food amazing.
Warm welcome, great service and lovely food.
We have eaten here previously when visiting the area. Lovely pub with good atmosphere. Great to be able to take our dog inside. We ate from the main and burger menus, plentiful portions and delicious! Friendly staff, service was a little slow this time but not unexpected as busy, sunny bank holiday. Will return when we next visit.
We always love our visits to you
Thank you all for the care and attention that you give to my mother throughout the meal.
Great food and a wonderfully varied menu ( would have given it 5 stars but my pink lamb was too pink), great service and lovely people. In fact we booked for the following day while we were there.
Superb if we're passing by we'll definitely be back in fantastic food and atmosphere 👌
Lovely atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious food.
Super food and lovely service - guests who had not visited before have requested another gathering so they can try more items from the menu!
Lovely campsite with spotless facilities. Both pubs were really welcoming and the food at the royal oak was incredible! The staff were all very helpful and welcoming - really impressed by the guy who offered to help us put up our tent!
It's ages since we've been to The Royal Oak and it was great! Attentive service, great atmosphere - lovely to see a pub so busy - and fabulous food. We'll be back!
A great Pint in a lovely warm 'real pub' atmosphere. The best burger that I have ever had, honestly. My wife wouldn't have the Red Snapper again but our friend enjoyed her Veal pie. We will be back.
A well enjoyed dining experience as always.
Service was patchy. Staff very friendly and helpful but slow. Food expensive (£18) for pie, chips and a bit of cabbage and not the same standard as in previous visits. Pie over cooked, filling dried out and just not as tasty as previously. We had the veal and mushrooms maybe 2 or 3 pieces of meat then filled with carrots and a couple of mushrooms pastry was good. Chicken and smoked bacon, chicken was dry and hardly any sauce. Lemon tart was good. Sticky toffee OK. Beer was nice. Might go back if in the area but would not make a trip to go there and would not recommend friends to travel to the pub. Shame previous visits were excellent.
We love this pub and visit relatively often. Food, service and atmosphere all first rate.
