Established in 2020 by a man called Rick who found his passion for cooking after 20 hard years in the corporate world, Beigel is one of Salford’s most popular Media City’s food outlets and has become a mainstay in the area. It’s known for its very friendly customer service and fresh bakes from the shop. Beigel offers a wide variety of bagels, including The Beigel made with salt beef, English mustard and gherkins, and The Vegan that has vegan mayonnaise, babygem lettuce, smoked vegan cheddar, Mediterranean tomato chutney, sliced red onions, vine tomatoes and rocket. There is also the wonderful Cypriot that has poppy seeds, grilled halloumi, homemade chilli jam, lemon aioli, rocket, lettuce and cucumber ribbons. If you’re ever in Salford and looking for a tasty and authentic bagel experience, Beigel is certainly worth a visit.
This Mancunian bakery and café was established in 2011, and since then Trove has launched bakeries in the Northern Quarter, Ancoats and Levenshulme. Trove is known for its deliciously homemade, fresh bread and bagels. The bakery uses traditional techniques to create its bagels that result in a deeper flavour and texture. The bagels are then boiled in water and baked to perfection, giving them a shiny crust and a slight sweetness. Trove offers seasonal jam, peanut butter and honey filled bagels that are all simply delightful. If you are looking for fresh bagels, look no further than Trove.
This deli is a local favourite for hot sandwiches, meats and patisserie. The Barbakan is always packed and one reason for that is its wonderful bagels. Situated in Chorlton, the Barbakan has been a local mainstay in the area for over 50 years. From sizzling ciabatta sandwiches to baked delights, amazing coffee and wonderful pastries, there is so much to discover and try in this bakery shop/café. The bagels are just as wonderful as the Barbakan’s top tier food. As a Polish bakery, expect traditional beigel bread here. We recommend having the pickle and ham option!
19 Café Bar is a cosy and inviting spot located in the heart of the Northern Quarter. It’s renowned for its delicious bagels that come with a variety of fillings. These are freshly baked in-house every day, ensuring a soft and chewy texture that perfectly complements the delicious fillings. Some of the popular bagel options include classic smoked salmon and cream cheese, avocado and bacon, and the amazing halloumi and avocado bagel that also comes with poached eggs and sundried tomatoes. Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast or a satisfying lunch, 19 Café Bar’s bagels are a must-try for anyone in Manchester.
Located in the centre of the Northern Quarter, Arlo’s is very well-known for its brilliant and gorgeous bagels. The café offers a variety of options and all come fresh with toasted poppy seeds, served open with a big cream cheese schmear. Some of the incredible options include Isle of Wight tomato and caper, baby cucumber and black pepper, smoked salmon and shallot, and keta caviar and dill. The bagels at Arlo’s are always fresh and perfectly toasted, and the café has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot for a quick breakfast or lunch.
