Where to celebrate NYE 2021: Melbourne restaurants edition

For entree, enjoy the classic prawn cocktail or the salumi and pickles. Main course is Beef Wellington, roasted gold band snapper fillet, or gnocchi with asparagus, mushrooms, and pecorino. Dessert gives diners the option of chocolate and salted caramel tart, or cinnamon creme brulee.

For families, there is a Twilight seating, and also a Late Dining sitting for night owls.

The Twilight option is $80 per adult, and $20 per child under 12 (plus a booking fee.)

For late-night revellers, inside dining starts at $130, with an outside terrace dining option priced at $140 (plus booking fee.)

If Italian sounds like the way to go this NYE, book a table at Santoni Pizza in Hawthorn. This 3-level eatery has one of Melbourne’s best rooftop bars, with views of the city skyline.

Early birds can partake of the kid-friendly 6pm to 8 pm seating, with a $75 set menu (3 courses), whilst night owls can do likewise for $110.

Check out this mouth-watering NYE feast: entree is a choice of king fish, scallops, or salsiccia sarda; main is a choice of prawn tortellini, pork sausages, lamb fillet or eggplant parmigiana, and dessert can be panna cotta, tiramisu, chocolate parfait, or cannoli with fairy floss and cherries.

For NYE, the $75 Twilight set menu (3 courses) at Santoni Pizza is available for those craving Italian cuisine.

Taxi Kitchen is the restaurant arm of the Transport Hotel, which boasts a public bar, plus the Transit Rooftop Bar – thus making it the ideal haunt to celebrate the coming of 2022! You won’t have far to go to find a drink or two after your meal.

Enjoy a fragrant and fresh 3-course meal at this fun, vibrant riverside menu. Your meal comes with a glass of Mumm Petit Cordon Premium Sparkling, all for $89 per person. Children can join in the fun for $49 each (sans sparkling, of course!)

A feast of betel leaf, red curry fish cakes, chicken skewers, pork belly, pad thai, massaman curry and coconut pudding will leave you feeling satisfied.

Plus you can upgrade to bottomless drinks for an extra 60 dollars per person! Now that’s something to celebrate.
