At ResDiary, we’re always on the hunt for the best restaurants around. This time our search took us to Ireland, specifically Ballina, a village that lies on the River Shannon in County Tipperary. Now, we all know that it’s a long way to Tipperary but once here, you don’t need to go far to find great Italian food. We stumbled upon Tuscany Bistro Ballina, an authentic Italian restaurant serving great tasting food for great value! Read on to find out all about our visit to Tuscany Bistro Ballina, which was just like being on a fabulous holiday in Italy. (Perhaps slightly foggier.)
The venue
Tuscany Bistro Ballina

Small and stylish, with comfy chairs and gleaming floors, Tuscany bistro excels at creating a cosy, intimate atmosphere. There’s a mixture of groups here, from friends catching up over drinks to people enjoying a family meal. For the families with young kids, not only do Tuscany bistro serve a kids menu, but also have high chairs on hand to make lunch/dinner that little bit easier.

The food and drink

What’s an Italian restaurant without pizza and pasta, right? We can assure you that Tuscany Bistro know how to do these favourites to perfection. If pizza’s your vice, can we recommend the Tuscany, topped with bacon, olives, avocado, pesto, and fresh peppery rocket. Other tasty dishes on offer include, expertly cooked veal with lemon sauce, quality fish dishes, and light veggie options including the cannelloni made with spinach and ricotta. There’s also an extensive wine list for the wine experts out there, and a good selection of cocktails for the cocktail connoisseurs too.

Tuscany Bistro Ballina is a great find in the Ballina/Killaloe area, and definitely brings a taste of the Mediterranean to your doorstep. With great food at good value prices, we’re certain this place will become your new favourite.
