If you have a sweet tooth, then you’re in luck as Liverpool has so many mouthwatering dessert places for you to try. We’ll try and not be too much of a bad influence on you, but sometimes the sweet stuff is just too good. Dessert is often the answer and Liverpool knows it with its show-stopping display of the delicious places to really indulge.
On Liverpool’s Cropper Steet you’ll find Little Hardware serving happy diners mouthwatering brunch creations and expertly brewed coffee. These guys blew up on social media because of their amazing creations, including waffles, pancakes and French toast for those of you with a sweet tooth, making this the perfect booking for a dessert. There’s also a bakery section with a glass counter displaying cookies, cakes, tarts and pastries. We highly recommend booking a table as there are often queues, especially on weekends!
The Shippons, a traditional pub set in the heart of Irby village is halfway between Chester and Liverpool. It won the Thwaits Hospitality Pub of the Year in 2024, making it a must visit. As well as its amazing classic British pub food, there’s also an extensive dessert menu to match including lemon drizzle cake, waffles, chocolate fudge cake and homemade crumble! The dessert menu includes even more delicious options, but we would be here all day if we listed them all – you’ll have to book in and discover them for yourself.
Nova Scotia is in the perfect location, right on the Albert Docks, making it a great place to sit and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and indulge in a dessert. There are four signature desserts including the rich chocolate brownie, a crumble made with seasonal fruits, homemade cheesecake (the flavours change weekly) and the gooey sticky toffee pudding.
LEAF is a resident of the iconic Bold Street. Establishing itself in 2007 as a small tea shop run by friends in a Liverpool city centre gallery, in the autumn of 2010, LEAF moved to a truly magnificent building on Bold Street. What’s more comforting than a hot cup of tea with a cake or a dessert? This is where the pancakes come in. You can indulge in a stack of three American-style pancakes with maple syrup and thick Greek yoghurt with blueberry compote or the signature exotic fruit Eton mess which we love! Think fresh and fruity, a perfect dessert for the warmer months especially.
TGI Fridays is not only the ideal to celebrate with family or in a group, but the desserts have really set the bar. The family-friendly American restaurant is BIG on flavour and not shy on loading up for pudding. First up they have desserts made for sharing – although we know you may find it hard to do so. Some of the highlights from this selection include the Chocolate Fudge Fixation, the New York Cheesecake and the Spiced Apple Waffle. If you don’t want to share though, then go for the S’Mores Sundae or the Black Forest Sundae.
The Book Bar is located in West Derby, which is very close to lovely walks around Croxteth Hall and Country Park – the perfect setting to enjoy an indulgent dessert. It serves amazing warm chocolate fudge cake with rich vanilla ice cream and a chocolate brownie sundae made with chocolate ice cream, chunks of chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and squirty cream – a chocolate lover’s dream!
This place boasts the biggest, fluffiest stacks of pancakes we have ever seen and they come in an indulgent array of flavours such as Kinder Bueno, pistachio, Biscoff and fresh fruit, just to name a few! It’s also jumped on a new dessert trend, the Soufflé Pancakes which originated in Japan. Expect huge French toast options including Biscoff, Nutella and Oreo combinations. Be prepared, this place gets busy! So don’t forget to pre-book your dessert date.
A buzzy, vibrant restaurant and café, set amongst the cobbled streets of Liverpool’s Georgian Quarter, The Quarter is the ideal location if you want to spend a relaxing afternoon or evening indulging in homemade tiramisu, banoffee pie, or salted caramel brownie. If they don’t take your fancy, this place also serves a wide selection of ice cream sundaes including rocky roads or the classic screwball. The outside sitting space is lovely in the summer as it overlooks the Anglican Cathedral, so if you want a late night treat, you can enjoy the evening sun eating dessert, what’s not to love?
Located in the beautiful Woolton Village, an affluent and leafy suburb of Liverpool, the Elephant Pub and Bakehouse is the ideal pit stop for a sweet treat. It has a lovely garden where you can sit and enjoy a coffee and a cake from the delicious bakery or, if you fancy something else, there’s an extensive dessert menu! Whether you’re in the mood for cookie dough, a mango and lime posset, or Biscoff ice cream, the Elephant is the dessert spot for you.
