The Langham Hotel is pure glamour, and its splendid high tea at Aria Bar and Lounge will make you feel like royalty for the afternoon.
Enjoy the selection of handmade sweet pastries as well as sandwiches with fillings of egg, chicken, prawn and salmon, hot savouries, and of course scones with jam and cream.
Tea comes from British specialty tea brand JING, but if you don’t know which tea you’d like, don’t worry, The Langham has a tea sommelier on hand to help guide you through such decisions.
Keep an eye on The Langham’s website for themed afternoon teas, as these are often organised for events such as Mother’s Day, Easter and there are even kid-friendly afternoon teas on the school holidays.

If fancy tableware and white tablecloths are not your scene, but you still want to get in on the high tea action, Om Nom is for you.
Every Saturday and Sunday, you can book high tea at the cool Adelphi Hotel and you will be met with a modern take on classic sweet and savoury afternoon tea delights. Go for a glass of sparkles or Champagne, or push the boat out and choose the unlimited French sparkling option.
On the savoury menu, we loved the Confit duck waffle cone with cherry pate d’fruit and foie gras, but on the sweet side we couldn’t go past the cute Lamingtart – all the flavours of a classic lamington in a tart case.

No.35 is the Sofitel Melbourne’s in-house restaurant, which overlooks the Yarra River and Southbank. On Sundays only, a traditional afternoon tea is offered, so be sure to book.
The sweet selection is wonderfully appealing. It features a milk chocolate and cherry bombe, macarons and bon bons to name a few, not to mention a complete selection of sandwiches (beef, salmon, chicken, egg, cucumber and ham), as well as the classic scones (these ones have a fruity twist) with jam.
Served with a glass of sparkling wine, and tea or coffee, it makes the perfect high tea.
