Whether you have a chronic brunch addiction or just have a passion for aesthetic cafes, Newbie should be number one on your list of places to visit.
Located at the bottom level of the Mercury building in Newmarket, Newbie is right in the centre of Auckland – a mere 10 minute walk from Westfield at 277 Broadway.
The first thing you’ll notice about Newbie is their colourful interior. With a beautiful mural next to the cabinet, and dried flowers adorning the walls behind the counter, it’s hard to miss amidst the dreary looking buildings surrounding it.
Everything in the cabinet looks absolutely gorgeous – this is the kind of place that doesn’t rely solely on their menu in order to make a good meal. And, if you take a look at what they have to offer, there may be some ingredients you don’t recognise – making Newbie that extra bit exciting. The menu integrates elements from western and Asian cuisines, creating a unique culinary fusion experience.
Since frequenting Newbie regularly from their grand opening in the second half of 2019, we must say that their range is one of the most diverse in the Auckland brunch scene. Personal favourites include the Purple Yam French Toast and Corn Fritters with Smashed Avocado and Peas. These two items represent Newbie’s forte perfectly – which is the seamless melding of flavours into one cohesive dish.
Not only is Newbie’s meal game absolutely A-tier, but their drinks are nothing to turn your nose up at. With suggestions such as matcha, turmeric, or mermaid lattes, Newbie’s drinks are an excellent pair with their Instagrammable food.
A bonus: Newbie’s coffee is all fair trade, and specialty grade so you can fully enjoy your caffeine fix without any guilt.
Whether you have a sweet craving to itch, or an urge to go savoury, we guarantee there is always something on Newbie’s menu that can satisfy your stomach.
You’ll find Newbie at 33 Broadway, Newmarket, open from 6am weekdays and 8am weekends.
