Fishcotheque
cuisinesFish and Chips

Scotland has access to some of the best fish in the UK, so it’s no surprise that most Scots love a good fish and chips dinner from the chippy! However, if you can’t make it up to Glasgow for your battered cod and chips, head down to Fishcotheque for the next best thing. Fishcotheque is an old-fashioned chip shop in Waterloo, which sources the best quality fish from Billingsgate Market, and unlike a lot of other chippies in London, these guys cook all their fish from fresh to give their dishes that incredible taste. Just make sure you save room for dessert because there’s also one of the most well-loved Scottish delicacies on the menu – none other than the iconic deep-fried Mars Bar!

If you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate Burns Night in January in London, head over to La Fromagerie in Marylebone. During its Burns Night event earlier this year, the menu included traditional dishes such as Cock-a-Leekie soup, whisky-laced prunes, haggis, neeps, and tatties as well as whisky-cured salmon and Caboc. As La Fromagerie is a passionate cheesemonger and is well-known for its cheese dishes, there will of course be a Scottish cheese board and oatcakes on offer. Plus, there will also be whisky pairings to accompany some great Scottish-themed entertainment – which is perfect for raising a glass and paying your respects to Robert Burns in true Scottish style!
