Where to go for sports in Manchester

Manchester is full of passion and love for sport. It has a unique sporting history and is still a centre for sporting excellence, from the historic Old Trafford cricket and football grounds to the new and high-end Manchester City football stadium, facilities and college. Other sports like boxing and rugby league are also massive here. But it’s the fans (mainly from the red side of town!) that keep the love for sports going ultimately. From sport pubs and pool bars to golf courses, Manchester has it all. Here is a guide to some of our favourite places to watch sport and perhaps play some pool or other sports as well.

It’s got a gorgeous 18-hole championship course for seasoned players, a nine-hole academy course, a fantastic driving range and lots of coaches if you want to book some practice. There is also the Il Corso Clubhouse Bar and Restaurant within the club, where you will be able to enjoy lovely food, such as grilled sirloin steak, Aberdeen Angus beef burger, fish and chips or choose from a selection of pizzas.
