It’s festival season in the capital and we are sure most of you already have one or two booked this year. However, to make the most of the music, you need to be well-fed, and Dish Cult has got you sorted with this list of great places to dine during London’s festival season.

The Vineking Wine Bar & Shop
cuisinesWine Bar, Deli

The Vineking is a wine specialist with the catchphrase “great wines-no nonsense” that functions as a shop and bar from Thursdays to Saturdays. Its menu has a fine deli section with snacks like Lapsnacks chilli puffs and Delice de Bourgogne. Still, the main attraction to The Vineking is unsurprisingly its unrivalled selection of wines. The guys here have all types, including red, white, rose, sparkling, fine, and fortified wine. So if you’re looking for a place to scrum down with some like-minded people to share a bottle (or maybe even two) of wine to discuss all the great music you experienced live, this is the place.

Wireless festival will be big this year and we hope your appetite matches it! Wireless will take place in Crystal Palace and Finsbury Park, and Sparrow restaurant is a 35-minute bus ride from Crystal Palace Park. After a hard day partying, you can look forward to a menu of contemporary European-influenced sharing-style dishes made with high-quality British produce. The menu has sharing platters like koftas and tahini sauce, or spinach and ricotta agnolotti and sage butter, which would be great to share with any friends that joined you at the festival.

As mentioned before, Wireless will also take place in Finsbury Park, and therefore you will need to know a top spot to eat relatively nearby. That’s where La Petite Auberge in Islington comes in. Located just 23 minutes from Finsbury Park, the food is well worth the trip!

The restaurant is an authentic rustic bistro in a traditional French tavern. If you want a quick snack rather than a full meal, then there’s a Creperie, which serves up unique French fast food – quite a unique selling point and well worth sampling. The full meals don’t disappoint either. La Petite Auberge has a dedicated mussels specials section and we recommend the “moules mariniere a’ la cream”. This dish consists of mussels cooked in onion, celery, herbs, basil, white wine and cream. For any vegetarians out there, we recommend the bourguignon de legumes. This delicious dish is made up of authentic French seasonal root vegetables, mushroom and button onion stew cooked with burgundy wine and served with riz pilaf.

Another popular London festival is the Community Festival, which is indie rock-themed. It’s also just under half an hour’s journey away from Patron Restaurant, a Parisian-style brasserie serving classic comfort French food. If you feel brave, you can try frog’s legs here, which are cooked in a tasty garlic and parsley butter. If you aren’t feeling so adventurous though, the charcoal-grilled tiger prawns with garlic parsley butter is delicious.

Don’t be fooled by the name, there is nothing crazy about a visit to Flat Earth Pizza! The restaurant serves up tonnes of ethically sourced, meat free pizzas so you can be good to the planet and your stomach. From a margherita to a Hackney hot, which is topped with sweet pickled beetroot, Somerset three cheese grate, jalapeños, fermented hot salsa and organic tomato passata to create a spicy burst of flavour in your mouth.

The restaurant is also within walking distance of Field Day festival, which will take place on 20th August in Victoria Park.
