If you’re looking for some new organic restaurants to try in London that are big on sustainability and high-quality produce, then here are our favourite spots to experience some seriously good, guilt-free food!
The Duke of Cambridge is Britain’s first organic pub and has been certified by the Soil Association since its opening in 1998. Situated a stone’s throw away from Regent’s Canal, this cosy Islington gastropub is great for health-conscious foodies looking for a relaxed dining spot with a neighbourhood feel. It’s dog-friendly so it’s also a great spot to visit after a walk around the area with your pooch. The Duke of Cambridge serve up a great range of meat and plant-based dishes, which celebrate the best of British cuisine with artful fusion flavours. All produce is fresh, organic and sustainably sourced from local farmers, plus there’s also an extensive range of organic wine, beers and cocktails on the drink menu. The food menu is seasonal and changes periodically, so be sure to check what’s on offer before heading down.
Everything at Farmacy is organically grown and biodynamically prepared, so you can be sure that the meal you’re getting is loaded with nutritional value. Farmacy is big on sustainability, seasonality and nourishing the body with 100% organic, plant-based food all made in-house from scratch. In fact, much of the produce is locally sourced or hand-picked from the restaurant’s very own biodynamic farm in Kent, so you can guarantee that the food is made with the freshest, highest quality ingredients. Menu highlights include the Heirloom Tomato Salad, the Pad Thai Salad and the Garden Pizza, plus plenty of other scrumptious options. Dine in at the gorgeous restaurant on Westbourne Grove – but be sure to book at this place is popular!
If you’re looking for great quality Japanese cuisine in the heart of London, Restaurant Yoshino prides itself on serving dishes that are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. It also uses organic fruit and vegetables in its dishes, and all the fish and meat is sourced responsibly. The dining space is minimalistic and sophisticated, which serves as the perfect backdrop for allowing the sensational food to speak for itself. On the menu, you’ll find a wide selection of sushi, Japanese BBQ, wagyu steak, tempura, and plenty more Japanese speciality dishes, and there’s a set lunch menu available between 12 – 2:30pm. Guests rave about the beautifully presented plates, top service and incredible flavours – this place is really a must if you’re in the Piccadilly area!
Oliveira Kitchen is a modern vegetarian restaurant in Shoreditch, serving a range of delectable organic and responsibly sourced dishes that will be sure to please vegetarians and carnivores alike. Vegetarian food is elevated here, with artisan dishes on offer such as Forest Floor Calamari, Sea Flora Risotto and a truffle delight named Miss Muffet and the Cornish Smuggler. Vegans are catered for too, with plenty of plant-based options on the menu including an incredible vegan ‘cheese’ board, with a delicious range of nut-based cheeses to sample as well as a divine Peruvian chocolate dessert with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel. Be aware that this restaurant operates an adults-only policy before booking.
Get a taste of the West Coast in Parsons Green at Hally’s! This Californian-inspired eatery is decorated like a Malibu beach house inside, with rustic tables, exposed white brickwork and plenty of plants that’ll immediately transport you to warmer climes. Hally’s follows a farm-to-table ethos, serving incredibly fresh breakfast, brunch and lunch plates made using organic and ethical produce as much as possible. Head on down for a delicious cup of organic Monmouth coffee to sip on alongside some of the yummy buckwheat pancakes, an invigorating açai bowl, or a Spicy Scramble if you fancy a bit of a kick in the morning. Hally’s is dog-friendly too, so make sure to bring your furry friend along!
