Looking like a traditional pub from the outside, but serving up top class food inside, Horatio Todds is something of a favourite with the folks of Belfast. With its huge fireplace and comfy seats, this is the perfect space to spend a Sunday afternoon with the papers. Head down for their great al acarte menu, or grab a roast. You know it makes sense.

Fancy having Sunday lunch in Belfast but on a boat? Holohan’s at the Barge have you covered. The name kinda gives it away, but this is quite literally a restaurant on a boat, letting you enjoy the last day of the week with views out over the water. Their menu features everything from fish and chips to rib eye steaks, meaning it’s the perfect place for all the family.

Overlooking the water on Lockview Road, Cutters Wharf is a gorgeous venue that’s perfect for a summer’s afternoon. (It’s also lovely and cosy inside if the weather isn’t too great.) They do a choice of roasts every Sunday with the choice of chicken or beef, served with all the trimmings. Best of all, two roasts are just £26.95! Their main menu is extensive too if you’re one of those odd people that’s not a fan of roasts.

If stylish and cool is your Sunday vibe, we recommend popping along to Il Pirata. One of the best Italian restaurants in the city, this is the perfect place for Sunday lunch in Belfast. Choose from small plates on their cichetti menu, or go for a pizza, pasta, or main dish. The venue itself is bright and airy, making it the perfect place to brush away any lingering hangover cobwebs.

Part of the illustrious James Street Group, Hadskis sits on super cool Commercial Court, making it the perfect place for a stop-off after a Sunday afternoon walk. The building itself is an old iron foundry and the owners have respected this background, incorporating that stripped back look in the decor. Their menu ranges from salt braised ox cheeks, or bacon egg, and chips, each with Hadskis own original twist.
