Score free gelato at launch of new Pidapipo store

It’s not just a normal Pidapipo either. The Laboratorio is a state-of-the-art cross between a traditional Pidapipo gelateria and a production kitchen. It describes itself as the “ultimate Italian dessert experience” and will go beyond its usual, though always delicious, artisanal gelato range to include gelato cakes, pasticceria items and small-batch artisanal chocolate products.

Almost ten years after its initial pop-up launch in Carlton, the new space will allow Pidapipo co-founder and chef Lisa Valmorbida to continue to innovate, experiment and develop exciting new flavour combinations.

There will be an exclusive eight-flavour gelato menu, with flavours such as white chocolate with pink peppercorn, and goat’s yoghurt with Australian saffron, and the on-site temperature-controlled chocolate room will allow Lisa and her team to incorporate the use of single-origin chocolate blends into a fabulous array of desserts, bars and gelato cakes.

Speaking of gelato cakes, expect a dazzling array of desserts which play on Italian classics such as Pidapipo rocher and Neopolitan bombe Alaska.

Is there a better way to celebrate the start of summer? We don’t think so!
