Green Park Brasserie is a lively restaurant and bar, located in an old railway station, and by far, one of our top picks for pre-theatre menu in Bath. Head along every day between 5:30pm and 6:30 and enjoy their 2-course pre-theatre menu for £14 only, or 3 courses for £18. Do you know what’s better than having dinner before a show? Dinner, with a show, before another show. At Green Park Brasserie, you can enjoy live music every evening, from Wednesday to Saturday, and that’s pretty sick. They have two private rooms for you to enjoy your dinner if you want a bit more privacy. Oh, and free parking in the evening. How inconvenient.
Hey folks, have you heard the big news? There’s a new restaurant in town, and it’s a real Thai food sensation. Giggling Squid was opened based on one idea: to cook simple, rustic, and fresh Thai food to the people of Bath. And we’re so thankful for that. From street food to coastal specialities, expect startling flavours, amazing colours, and original textures. For all the seafood fans out there, these guys have a love of fish and Crustacea, and they’ve got a wide range of dishes beyond that. Their menu is available from 12pm to 10pm, so pop in at any time and enjoy a tasty pre-theatre menu.
Firehouse Rotisserie has been a landmark of the Bath restaurant scene for more than 25 years, and to be honest, any real Bathonian knows this place very well. This spot is mostly known for its unique blend of Californian cuisine as well as its South Western American flavours, featuring awesome dishes like free range rotisserie chicken, stone baked gourmet pizza, dry aged steaks, gourmet burger, seafood and salads. Book your table from 5:30pm every night during the weekdays, or anytime between 12pm and 10pm during the weekend. If it’s comfort food, relaxed vibes, and great service you’re looking for, then it doesn’t come better than Firehouse Rotisserie.
Dear vegetarian friends, you might want to pass on this one. Served in a relaxed stylish conversion of a notorious Victorian pub, Hudson steak house is the spot in town when looking for a good piece of meat. These guys specialise in prime dry aged steaks, delicious starters with a fusion influence and some mouth-watering classic dishes. Their early evening special consists in 8oz prime flat iron steak with bearnaise sauce. It comes with pepper fries, and a glass of wine for £17.50, served every weekday from 5pm to 7pm. Don’t hesitate to treat yourself with one of their lip-smacking cocktails, and you’re in for an amazing night. https://www.resdiary.com/restaurant/hudsonsteakhouse
Chef Garry Rosser and his family opened The Scallop Shell in 2015, only to offer the people of Bath traditional favourites like lightly battered, flaky cod and haddock, and seasonal delights from the early coastal markets. Specialised in fish and chips and seafood grills, The Scallop Shell is one of the best spot for a pre-theatre menu in Bath. It’s open six days a week, anytime between 12pm and 9:30pm. Their fish is fresh and usually daily caught, so their menu changes daily and might not always offer the same selection. But we promise, whatever’s on this menu will please those little taste buds of yours. You have our word!
