If you think Greek food is just gyros and souvlaki, you’re about to change your mind…
While the Greeks are known for their ancient and rich history, Greek cuisine is equally rich in flavour and variety. Find out where to go in Brisbane to get the best of this time-tested cuisine.
Celebrate Greek traditions with local ingredients and a modern twist at Nostimo, inside South Brisbane’s Greek Club.
Headed by critically acclaimed chef Alex Xinis, you’ll find a range of favourites on the menu, from the expected souvlaki and spanakopita to the less expected Pantzarosalata, a salad of purple and golden beetroot with horseradish yoghurt, apricot and mint, and Manitaria, sesame panko mushrooms with Greek-style remoulade.
Make the most of fabulous city views and renowned Greek hospitality by sitting out on the open terrace.

For a more contemporary take on Greek cuisine,
Greca is a modern taverna located at Howard Smith Wharves which offers water views and flavour-packed food.
Start with that classic of Greek cuisine Taramasalata, fish roe dip, grilled pita, olives and pickles. Next choose from Octopus with fava and spinach or maybe Marinated kingfish with capers and crisps. Move onto the share platters with the Oven baked lamb shoulder with Greek yoghurt and sesame a stand-out. Don’t pass up dessert either, not when Katoumari, smashed filo, walnuts and semolina cream is on the menu!
