Leading Palmer’s culinary force is none other than James Kenny, a renowned New Zealand chef; he has left his mark locally and internationally. The approach to Palmer’s menu focuses on sustainability, seasonal produce and handmade delicacies. The entire offering is hearty and homely with a contemporary twist.
Exploration is at the heart of Palmer cuisine; the menu is designed to share and experience as one. The menu is short and sweet, showcasing the finest and freshest ingredients New Zealand has to offer. A few beautiful dishes you can try are the wood-fire leeks, market fish and chicken liver parfait with fermented beetroot and wood-fired bread.
The Poaka farm cured pork with gnocco fritto and gentleman’s relish is incredible; this dish is sure to warm you up throughout winter. You can also enjoy the likes of beef tartare, smoked Kahawai croquettes and Kefalograviera cheese. There are three sides available; the seasonal vegetables, wood-fired bread and the Sauerkraut fries with black garlic mayonnaise.
There is no better way to finish up the evening than with a sweet treat; Palmer has two options available for dessert; the authentic French Mille-Feuille of apples and the meringue with vanilla, blood orange and yoghurt sorbet.
The cocktail menu is an expertly created collection of wonderful flavours and unforgettable combinations. It will take your tastebuds on a journey like none other. Start the night off with a spicy pineapple and habanero margarita, or opt for the Kiwi coffee. Inspired by the espresso martini, the Kiwi coffee is made with brown sugar, smoky Thompson manuka whisky, coffee liqueur, cold brew and gingernut cream.
Palmer’s team of incredible bartenders can also craft a cocktail catered to your requirements; based on your favourite flavours. Palmer has a tipple to suit every preference, from beers to wines and non-alcoholic options.
